Hello All,
It's Natalie again - while Jim's away, galavanting around the globe (well, at least Germany, The Netherlands, and the UK), the "horses" (at home) will play! So I get to "play around" with the Newsletter.
Behind the Scenes at MES
Between the Newsletter and learning new tasks for Customer Support and Communication, I had fun working with this guy the other day. Grady has a particular way of "nudging" me to the side he wants me to work on, and has a hard time releasing tension.
Then again, a little sacrum float goes a long way!
But enough about me and Grady. Here's a little bit about the "horses at home"...
Amelia Nalli, MMCP, MMES, Social Media Manager and Instructor, has been practicing some Jedi Mind Trickery...
Our Fieldwork Coordinator, Bridget Kinnell, MMCP and Coach, went through her photos and said she could only find photos with horses. Why am I not surprised? Her husband and son voted for this one!
What ARE they laughing at?
Jo Bartruff is our resident artist. She also handles customer support and shipping in Fairfield. Her office is a gallery of her paintings - and I love it when she sends me a photo of another one. Here is the latest, titled "The State of the Union 2023."
Malia Aldrich, MMCP, is our Course Coordinator. She helps Instructors manage their courses, puts course dates on the calendar, and keeps everyone organized. Despite all the floods in California recently, she welcomed a new horse to her herd.
Meet Mr. Big!
Megan Dushin, MMCP, MMES, Instructor and Coach, was Fieldwork Coordinator when I started my Masterson journey. Now she is Operations Officer and MMCP Liaison, and helps keep the wheels of MES humming along.
She teaches Weekend Seminars and MMES courses and keeps herself busy with family and craniosacral training. I know who to call if I have a headache!
Dialing now...
Megan also sent this photo. Even the mailboxes are tucked in for the night in Minnesota! BRRRRR!
Sonia and Opi
Sonia Bascuñana Borras, MMCP and Social Media Manager, says she and Opi (Opalina) have trouble taking selfies - but this one is pretty fun!
Anyone have tips for taking rider/horse selfies?
Kelsey and Weda are not pictured in this photo gallery - they are busy, busy! But we couldn't do our jobs without them - thank you ladies!
MMCP Demos
We have a lot of MMCPs doing demonstrations in the US, as well as around the globe. Please check out the listings at the end of the newsletter - hopefully there is one in your area. We love to talk about the Masterson Method® and show how this method helps owners and horses.
Jim's upcoming Expo Expeditions
As a reminder, Jim is going to be at several expos this year, giving demos and talking to people at the booth. We have a couple more in the works and will fill you in as we firm up the details. Make sure to stop by!
Courses, Courses everywhere!
We're adding courses to the Masterson Method® Course Page all the time - if you are looking for one, bookmark our page and check back often (that's why Kelsey and Weda are so busy!).
Congratulations to Tomoko Sembongi, MMCP and Weekend Seminar Instructor, for teaching her first two seminars in Japan in March. Well done, Tomoko!

Congratulations everyone!

New Position at MES
And finally, Masterson Equine Services has an open office position. Here are a few details:
- Excellent customer service and office support skills (both phone and email).
- Detail, detail, detail oriented!
- Great sense of humor!
- Ideally working from our Fairfield, Iowa office - you'll be in an office, not a stall (see what I mean about the sense of humor?).
- Technical, clerical and database support.
- 20-25 hours per week.
If you are interested, here is a link to the full job description:

Enough for now
So, that's the news for this month. Jim will be back from Europe at the end of March and will report on his adventures in the April Newsletter.
Until then, like Jim, me and our whole office herd...
...Enjoy your horses! Natalie
Here's Jim at work - EQUITANA, Germany!

"Horsing Around" at the 2023 MMCP Gathering
Sometimes horses know best. Just sayin'. And this horse clearly knows the Masterson Method® and some of the techniques. Jim could learn a thing or two!
Yup - still laughing about this!
Here is a picture from Coralie Hughes, and a short story about the Advanced 5-day Course in Phoenix. She writes:
Incidentally, this horse is 31 and had lost his bottom teeth. Owners had him in a pen waiting on him to starve to death. I saw him super skinny at this farm about 6 weeks ago and he looked pitiful.
Kind people (Linda who has him at this ranch) took him in and he cruises where
ever he wants and has beautiful hay available. He has gained so much
weight! The whole class did a round robin full bodywork session on him and
he was in heaven. It was quite the tear jerker experience.

Shout-out for MMCP Demos!
Our MMCPs have been very busy planning and giving demos of the Masterson Method®. Here are some additional photos of those events.
Katrina Hays, MMCP, uses Jimmy the Masterson Horse in demos.
From Alice Long's demo last year. Alice is an MMCP, MMES, Instructor, Mentor and Coach.
Stephanie Wilkins, another MMCP, MMES, Instructor, Mentor and Coach sent this photo from a demo last fall - this horse looks so relaxed!
It's snowing in Switzerland and it was an exciting demo with wonderful participants. Thank you very much for your work and support.
Next week I'm going to the meeting in Mönchengladbach and I'm really looking forward to the meeting with Jim.
MMCPs - Keep up the good work!

Ray sent in a story and photo last year. He recently sent this update:
Just want to update you on my experience with the Masterson Method®. As told previously, I primarily work with rescued horses at two sanctuaries. This has given me access to over 30 horses to minister to.
First off I want to say that I am getting more out of the program than the horses probably do. Being a combat veteran from the Vietnam war left me with many issues which plagued me for over 50 years. After just a few hours being among therapy horses my life changed forever. I found so much solace from touching and “communicating” with horses in a veterans equine therapy group that I noticed my PTSD is gone when I’m with them. That’s when I decided to do massage. I looked at several modalities but was drawn to Jim’s method by the releases shown in his videos. This being said, the licks and chews and yawns are the elixir my soul seeks for healing. It is truly my “happy place”!
I again want to thank Jim and his entire organization for allowing me to fill my golden years with golden memories through the Masterson Method®.
The photo is Ray and Wren - an Amish carriage horse rescued from a kill pen at 5 years old and is now 7. He is big (17.4 Hands) and has more personality than can be imagined.

Masterson Method Equine Specialist (MMES) Program News
Partnering with horses is an important component of EAS programs and includes various activities in which the horse is a fundamental part of the experience. By bringing some basic techniques of the Masterson Method Integrated Equine Bodywork to horses, staff, volunteers and program participants, you can create a win-win situation — your horses will benefit from receiving bodywork to help release tension and increase relaxation, and volunteers, staff and program participants can gain increased awareness and connection with the horse.
About the Masterson Method Equine Specialist Program
The Masterson Method Equine Specialist specializes in sharing specific light touch Masterson Method techniques with persons served in equine-assisted learning and therapy programs. By doing this bodywork on horses, participants deepen their connection with horses while also gaining self-awareness and self-regulation skills; meanwhile, therapy horses are tended to through simple bodywork and learn a new way of relating to people. It's a win/win!

Taryn Simone, MMCP
Los Angeles, California
My journey to the Masterson Method® began when looking for a way to help my retired horse feel more comfortable after an old injury left his knee calcifying, leading to compensation and restricting his range of motion. My vet suggested that I research equine bodywork to help him with the compensation he was experiencing. I jumped at the chance to help my horse and became certified in an alternative equine bodywork modality. Soon, I began searching for more information and tools to help my horse. My research brought me to the Masterson Method®. This modality improved my levels of communication by listening to the subtle ways horses communicate where they are carrying tension and restriction in their bodies.
As I worked with my horse, I noticed other horses around me were becoming a part of our bodywork sessions by releasing from afar. I knew then that I wanted to share this beautiful modality with as many horses as I could.
I continue my education on all things horse through researching, attending clinics, and taking online courses to bring my best to each horse I have the privilege to work with. It brings me joy to help facilitate the conversation between horses and their owners, be a part of the horses’ wellness team, improve their performance and be an advocate for the incredible athletes they are.

Lisa Beyer, MMCP
Rumson, New Jersey
Lisa’s undeniable love connection with horses began at an early age during a day camp trail riding trip. Although she was a little scared when her horse took off, she was calm when he finally stopped and went back to the barn as she smiled and asked, “can I do that again?” Her horse connection had now begun and riding lessons, horseback riding camps, and wanting a horse of her own were building her future.
After having to step back from her dreams, Lisa found her way home several years later when she adopted a 27-year-old mare named Tique. Her current career was helping people relax, unwind, and rebalance through Reflexology and Reiki so why not bring this to horses as well. Wanting Tique to feel her best inspired her to become a Certified Equine Sports Massage Therapist.
Lisa wanted to learn more when she discovered the Masterson Method® and attended a two-day seminar. She immediately noticed how Tique, and other horses responded to Light Touch work while affecting their muscles and releasing tension. This influenced her to go through the program to become a Masterson Method Certified Practitioner and so her future continues.

Michael Clark, MMCP
Brookhaven, Pennsylvania
Mike has a passion for horses that runs deep. He has loved horses ever since he can remember. His grandfather and great-grandfather raised and raced standard-bred race horses. Whenever he visited the farm, he took every opportunity to be in the barn. He always wanted a life with horses. He has spent a lot of time traveling and learning various methods of training. He still does.
While on that journey, He discovered The Masterson Method® and he realized that training isn’t the only way to help horses. He really enjoys helping horses through his bodywork practice. Mike finds each horse he works with to be a puzzle and helping them to find and release tension to be very rewarding.
Outside the barn, Mike is a high school teacher.

Andrea Jacomini, MMCP
Columbus, Ohio
My childhood passion and love for horses was reignited about six years ago when I started riding. Soon after, I was working at a local barn and realized how much love, trust and patience horses provide to those who work with them. I noticed that just like humans, horses hold tension in their bodies, and I wanted to find a way to give back to them – as they had already contributed so much to my life. Searching for a form of bodywork, I found The Masterson Method® and the Bladder Meridian technique- which did wonders for the lesson horses! My excitement prompted me to take the Weekend Seminar and start my journey of becoming a Certified Practitioner.
My training over the past few years has provided me with the knowledge and experience to help horses feel better physically and emotionally. I am honored to be able to give back to these amazing animals by sharing The Masterson Method® with all horses (and their people, too!).

Interested in taking a course? Here are a few testimonials that might convince you!
Where would I begin? Can I interest a newcomer by saying the person/horse relationship changes into something more meaningful? Would I entice this person by mentioning their horse’s mental and physical well-being can be positively influenced by the average person? Would I capture their attention by saying nerve blocks, sedatives, chemicals and other drugs are not the solution?
My mantra now will start out with: Slow. Calm. Light. I have so much to learn.
(Weekend Seminar)
Fabulous learning experience with like minded people for the good of the horse.
(Advanced 5-Day Course)
This course teaches you to go lighter and it shows you how sensitive and receptive the horse can be to the "lightest" touch.
