While the fiscal year may be winding down, things are still moving fast at the career center. We've hosted several recruitments and job fairs over the last month. And next week we will be conducting the Annual Greater Lowell Job Fair at Middlesex Community College. This is a great opportunity for job seekers to come out and meet some of the 60 employers expected to attend. See the details below and please share the information with anyone you think might interested in attending. This job fair is open to everyone.

In February, we were lucky to have several staff members become certified in Motivational Interviewing and Fiscal Literacy. This training was done by instructors from Middlesex Community College. Professional development of staff is one of my priorities as we can see the results of this training directly impacting our customers.

As we head into the summer months, we've noticed that the number of customers we are servicing is heading up. Through the end of March, we have served over 5,500 individuals, a jump of nearly 27% from last year. With several new staff members on board, continued staff training, and the exploration of new and innovative service methods, I believe we are well situated to assist our customers find jobs and land on a great career pathway.
