Procurement Announcement

New! Statewide Planning RFP


On 10/18 MBI issued a Request for Proposals for Statewide Broadband Planning Services to solicit responses from qualified consultants with experience in broadband/digital equity planning, community/stakeholder engagement and outreach, project management, facilitation, workforce/economic development, and broadband infrastructure deployment.


These services will support MBI in developing a statewide Digital Equity Plan and a Five Year Action Plan, required components of the federal Bipartisan Infrastructure Law’s Digital Equity Act and Broadband Equity Access and Deployment (BEAD) programs.

Digital Equity Planner Job Opening

Digital Equity Planner - Full-Time Position



MBI is seeking a dynamic individual to support the expansion of MBI’s digital equity and inclusion initiatives. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual seeking to gain hands on experience in digital equity planning, program implementation, stakeholder engagement, and program evaluation. 

The ideal candidate will have 2 – 3 years’ experience in urban planning, community development, or other related fields; have an expressed interest in the digital equity field; and demonstrate an ability to work both independently and in a team environment.


2 Days a week of in-person work are required at MassTech’s Westborough office location.


Salary Range: $65 - $75K, commensurate with experience.

Procurement Update

Date Change – Digital Equity Partnership Program

 

The concept paper submission deadline has been moved to October 28, 2022.

 

MBI has extended the deadline for the submission of concept papers for the initial funding round for the Digital Equity Partnership Program to 5pm on Friday October 28th to allow respondents additional time to review the extensive Q&A posted on 10/17.

Next Round of Deadlines


The next Round of Municipal Digital Equity Planning Consultant and Digital Equity Partnerships Program responses are due 5 pm on 12/5. NDIA/ILSR Workshop


MBI hosted Massachusetts' first-ever Digital Equity Capacity Building Workshop for Regional Planning Agencies and key stakeholder partners this month. Shout out to the National Digital Inclusion Alliance (NDIA) and Institute for Local Self-Reliance for facilitating an amazing workshop.

Salem Network Tour


To kickoff Digital Inclusion Week 2022, a visit to Salem was organized to spotlight a mesh WiFi project supported by a MBI grant to expand broadband access and adoption. Thanks to everyone at North Shore Community Development Coalition for hosting the tour and to the team at Essex County Community Foundation for their partnership and support on the grant.
