FSKB Collapse: Maryland VOAD is there!

Maryland VOAD has been approached by the chaplains at the Baltimore International Seafarers Center to coordinate support for the 180+ sailors who are stuck at the Port of Baltimore until the channel has been cleared for ship traffic.  

The amount of time the assistance in needed is unknown so we are asking our members to donate funds to ensure we positioned to fill unmet needs as identified..

Christopher Gloninger, Senior Scientist in Climate and Risk Communication at Woods Hole Group in Bourne, MA. Chris' presentations include:



Science and Facts Behind the “Why” (that is, “Why” are we having storms with greater intensity and frequency?) and,

 “Keeping Up with a Warming World.” The goal of the presentations is to help the VOAD community better understand the science behind these storms and explore strategies to better respond to them. 

Volunteer to become a trained member of your community in emergency response. 

This 20-hour in person CERT Basic training will be held: 

Friday, April 26 from 6pm-9pm,

Sat., April 27 from 8am-5pm, and

Sun., April 28 from 8am-4pm

Location: Fire Training Academy, 415 Maxwell Frye Road, Millersville.

May 5 @ 1pm - 5pm - come back for the simulation at the same location.

Everyone completing the course receives a nationally recognized certification and the opportunity to join AAACERT as a member.
