The Festival in Your Neighborhood!

We enjoy sharing STEM experiences created by others. We will be hosting a booth/table at the following events. We hope you can join us.

  • February 25, Washington Wizards STEM Event, Capital One Arena- Sports and STEM go hand in hand. The Wizard will be celebrating Black History Month by honoring Benjamin Banneker. There will be a variety of STEM activities before the game. Click here for details and tickets.
  • March 3, Girl Power, Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory This event is to encourage Elementary and Middle School girls to pursue STEM careers. For more information and to register Click here
  • March 8-10, Awesome Con, Washington Convention Center- Last year we hosted a table. It was a barrel of fun. There are other STEM-oriented booths from the National Science Foundation and NASA to go with the amazing lineup of pop culture activities. Click here for more information and tickets.

Biotech/Health Expo, Roberto Clemente Middle School!

We love Pi Day. We will celebrate Pi Day this year by hosting a Biotech/Health Care Expo at Roberto Clemente Middle School (RCMS) in Germantown. Twenty exhibitors will be running demos and activities involving Biotech and Health for the students of RCMS.  


Girl Scout Cybersecurity Badge Event!

 We will be holding our 2nd Girl Scout badge activity at Morgan State University on March 30th from 2-4 pm. This is part of our celebration of Women’s History Month. The event will be run by Women STEM Professionals and members of Morgan’s Women in Computer Science Club. -Daisies, Brownies, Juniors, and Cadettes can earn their Cyber security badge. The event is free, but registration is required. To register, Troop leaders just need to email the Scout names, Levels, and their Troop Number to mdstemfest@gmail.com



Middle School STEM Professional Middle School!

For the past two years, the Maryland STEM Festival has been holding the Middle School STEM Professional Match Program across Maryland. This year we are expanding the event and holding it in the Spring and Fall. We seek STEM Professionals to speak at Middle Schools on or around April 19th. The program involves coordinating visits from STEM Professionals with Middle Schools around the state. Solar Eclipse!

Make sure you get our solar glasses for the last total solar eclipse visible in the United States until 2044 on April 8th. Our Executive Director, Phil Rogofsky is heading to Cleveland to experience the totality of the eclipse. With a little luck, he will report on it live!

Agrownomics

Agrownomics is back on the Google Store! This beta version of our fun video game has been updated with a new pig livestock section, graphic enhancements, and more educational information. We are working on more enhancements as well as getting the game back on the App Store. The full version will be completed and up both the Google Play and App Stores in time for National Ag Day, March 19th.
