Dear Friends and Partners:

As we approach the end of 2023, it's time for reflection, gratitude, and anticipation for the future. This year began with a startling event for me - a car accident that was both a literal and metaphorical 'bang.' This incident, while challenging, served as a stark reminder of the preciousness of life and the resilience we all possess. Despite the setbacks including the removal of my appendix and the recent passing of my mother, these trials have only strengthened my resolve and passion, especially in leadership and supporting veteran transitions.

This year, our nation welcomed new veterans into civilian life - approximately 1,300 daily. Max Fab Consulting’s mission is to ensure these heroes find Veteran READY workplaces, a crucial step in starting their post-service journey in a healthy, supportive environment. I’ve witnessed many courageous organizations partner with Veteran READY, initiating significant changes to accommodate and honor our veterans and their families.

As I look toward to 2024, my excitement grows as I continue to create and nurture spaces that genuinely honor and support our veterans. One of my most exhilarating ventures this year was the launch of the Kangaroo Leadership podcast. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, and I’m thrilled to have a lineup of inspiring individuals from across the nation ready to share their stories, lessons, and wisdom. The kangaroo, known for its ability only to move forward, symbolize the ethos at Max Fab and Veteran READY - always progressing, never retreating.

Another landmark achievement this year has been my collaboration with Upstream Strategy Partners (formerly APEX Leadership). This partnership is a significant step towards realizing my dream of delivering quality leadership and fostering deliberate development and growth. Our joint efforts aim to strengthen communities and businesses, both locally and nationwide.

Looking back, I recognize limitations in resources and time, yet this realization only fuels my passion and focus. This journey has been exciting and filled with growth. Your support, valued customers, and future partners drive me forward. As we step into 2024, I invite you to join me on this continuous improvement journey.

The future is indeed bright. With a Max Fab attitude, I am committed to achieving my goals and making a meaningful impact. I extend my heartfelt thanks for your ongoing support and wish you a blessed, safe, and joyous holiday season and a prosperous new year.

When the Cows Lie Down: The Reason People Quit YOU, Their "Leader"

My NEW book explores good and bad quitting. It also focuses on why people are quietly quitting—leaving the workforce, avoiding office environments, and giving up on social aspects of work. By understanding the reasons behind quietly quitting, you can leverage that knowledge to your advantage.

There are times, however, when quitting becomes essential for success, health, and raising your game. There are also moments when people quit YOU, their leaders—times when the cows lie down, so to speak.

The Amateur Presenter

If you’re called on to give a talk or presentation, avoid the most common trap: Decide that you need to be just like a professional presenter, but not quite as good. Being a 7 out of 10 at professional presenting is a mistake. Better to stay home and send a memo. Check out Seth's blog post.
