National Hispanic Heritage Month: Today marks the start of National Hispanic Heritage Month, which is celebrated from September 15-October 15 each year. Nearly one in four Nampa residents are Hispanic according to the latest US Census.

Constitution Day: Saturday, September 17 marks the 235th anniversary of the signing of the United State Constitution, "recognizing all who are born in the U.S.

Important Information for our Utility Customers

The City of Nampa will officially switch to a new utility billing website for our customers on November 21, 2022. The existing utility payment system used is being phased out and an update is needed. The new electronic billing and payment portal costs less, provides additional options for customers and is more user-friendly.

Unfortunately, we are unable to copy customer debit/credit card information to the new system. Customers who currently have auto-payment set up on the utility billing website using a debit or credit card must enter payment information into the new customer website before November 21, 2022 to avoid late payments or future shut-offs.

In order for this to be a smooth transition for those who pay online, customers are asked to set up their new account before November 21 at https://nampa.billingdoc.net.

It's beginning to feel like fall...and with the season changing comes the end of the irrigation season for Nampa customers.

The last day for City of Nampa irrigation customers will be September 28.

STORMWATER COMMUNITY CLEAN-UP DAY

Volunteers Needed!

The City of Nampa’s Environmental Compliance Division invites the community to participate in the 11th Annual Stormwater Clean-up Day on Saturday, October 1, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Volunteers will meet at West Park, located at 27 S Park Dr, at 9 a.m. for pastries and coffee, and receive a brief lesson on ways to keep our waterways clean before heading out to clean storm drains which lead to our local waterways. The morning will include picking up litter in surrounding neighborhoods and local waterways and marking storm drains with decals to promote keeping our storm drains clean of debris. The day will end with a lunch donated by Walmart.

The City of Nampa encourages volunteers and teams of all ages. All materials needed for the cleanup will be provided by the City of Nampa’s Environmental Compliance Division.

COMMUNITY CONNECTION

September is Suicide Prevention Month and multiple organizations are coming together for a very important conversation around youth mental health

Please join us on Tuesday, September 27^th from 6-8 PM at Northwest Nazarene University’s Brandt Center for an important conversation about youth mental health. A facilitated youth panel will highlight the challenges teenagers face today and what they wish adults and caregivers knew to help better support them and their needs.

The evening will include breakout discussions with adults to identify actionable efforts that can be taken to increase family and community supports for our youth. Our communities rally for our kids, and they need us to listen, learn and act.
