Cranberry Township recently marked the occasion and celebrated the preservation of Powell Farm, as the Township has long been committed to preserving and maintaining green space.
An agreement to take ownership of the former Denton Powell Farm property is another major step in those efforts.
The Board of Supervisors moved to acquire the 150-year-old, 71-acre farm on Goehring Road to ensure it remains preserved for decades to come.
Friends of the Township welcomed the news at a farm preview event with self-guided walking tours and remarks from distinguished guests.
Pardon our construction, but something awesome is coming your way! Work to upgrade the sports courts at UPMC Passavant Sportsplex at Graham Park will begin March 13. The existing tennis, basketball, and bocce courts will be closed during the duration of the project, which is expected to take approximately three months. Additionally, the parking lot between the existing tennis and basketball courts will be closed.

The race was tight, but a winner of the Township's Name That Snowplow contest has been selected.
With 37% of the votes, Ice-Ta-La-Vista Cranberry takes home the 2023 honor. A design featuring the name will be placed on a Township plow later this year.
Sidney Plowsby came within two votes of winning, ultimately earning second place.
