March 2023

Chamber News

The month of March has just flown by! That's not a bad thing when you're anxious for Spring. Not only have we had our usual networking events, but there has been a lot of planning going on. A couple of big Chamber events in the planning stages are our annual Golf Outing which will be on Friday, July 14th as well as our 70th Anniversary Event planned for October 26, 2023.

We are also planning another East Side Chamber networking event in September.

Coffee Connections

Tiesha Bland,Director of Marketing at Hilltop Village welcomed the Euclid Chamber of Commerce in for Coffee Connections on March 9th.

For those of you that are not familiar with Hilltop Village, it is an independent senior living facility on Euclid Ave. There are one bedroom and two bedroom apartments available as well as studio apartments.

As always, it was great to have an opportunity to network and make connections with chamber members!

Happy Hour

Our March Happy Hour was held at Sticks Bar & Grill at Briardale Greens Golf Course. It was great to see so many people come out to this event.

We certainly encourage members to attend the monthly networking events held by the chamber. Taking advantage of the these events is a great way to meet other business owners and grow your network!

International Women's

Professional Day

On March 8th, the Euclid Chamber of Commerce participated in the Collaborative Chamber Alliance International Women Professionals Day.

This event featured eight panelists including Dr. Teresa Dews, President of Euclid Hospital and Emily Pejak, General Manager of Euclid Lincoln Electric Consumables

It was so encouraging to hear the stories that were shared by all of the panelists and to see how all of the women panelists have overcome a variety of obstacles including racism and sexism in their varied industries.

The Euclid Chamber was well represented among the attendees including a group of young ladies from Villa Angela-St. Joseph High School's Girl's Empowerment Group. The panelists were especially encouraging to these young women offering their knowledge and support.

This inspiring event encouraged women to celebrate hard fought victories acknowledging that there is still work to do!

Professional Development Series

We’ve all been through a lot these last couple of years. Covid, working from home, supply chain issues and now getting used to the “new normal.” It has been rough on both individuals and teams. Business owners, leaders and managers have had to find new ways to accomplish tasks and lead their teams.

Are you looking for a way focus, get to know your team better and create improved engagement? Cliftonstrengths may be just what you’re looking for.

Cliftonstrengths identifies a person’s top five talents out of 34 talent themes. Being aware of your talents and working to development them creates a strength. A strength is the ability to consistently provide high performance in a specific task. Focusing on your talents and knowing those of your team helps to create a highly engaged team that functions much more efficiently.

The Euclid Chamber of Commerce is presenting a Professional Development Series using Cliftonstrengths. Amazon, knowing the importance of high functioning teams, is sponsoring this series which is allowing the chamber to offer it at a greatly reduced price. This series will begin with participants learning about Cliftonstrengths and learning about their own individual strengths. The second workshop will focus on teambuilding. The third workshop will concentrate on strengths leadership and the fourth will put emphasis on creating a strengths based cultural.

Although it is encouraged, it is not necessary to go to all four workshops. All participants will be required to take the Cliftonstrengths assessment. This assessment is included in the price of the workshop. Please see the flyers for more information.
