Need Coming Next Month

Reusable Grocery Bags

Do you have extra reusable grocery bags you're not using? If so, we can use them! Each month we pack about 100 family food bags to send to Putnam County families in need. The bags are an easier way for them to transport the food and the families will have a bag to reuse! Pictured: Vernice Krantz, Denise Bramlitt, Gloria Barlow, and Stacey Eisold.

Jif Peanut Butter Donation

Thank you to the Jif plant in Lexington, Kentucky for another pallet of peanut butter! This was made possible through Bill and Josey Curtis consistently working on behalf of Feed the Need.

This is the 4th year Jif has donated peanut butter for our weekend feeding program!

93 cases were transported to Florida by R.J. Corman Railroad Group, thank you! Thank you, Josey, for your commitment to ensure it was shipped. Thank you, Bill Curtis and Mary Batt of Lexington, Kentucky, for continuing to put in a good word with Jif to have peanut butter donated to students in Putnam County, Florida!

This is a group effort. Once it arrives at the railroad, it must be picked up and delivered to FTN. A big shout out to David Minor for traveling to get the pallet and delivering it to our warehouse!

Because of our team effort once again, peanut butter and jelly will be going out this week for spring break! Thank you all!

March Volunteer Birthdays

March 16th - Kan Dee Bacon

Kan Dee recently joined the FTN volunteer team in September. She volunteers for FTN because she worked in the school system and saw the need for the students, and felt this is way she can help those that need it.

She is a Putnam County Native, has lived here all her life, and loves this community.

Kan Dee loves to read, exercise, go to the beach and is pretty much happy doing most anything. She has been married for 37 years and has 2 children and 3 & ¾ grandchildren (1 due in April)! Happy Birthday Kan Dee!

March 20th - Brittany Goodson

Brittany has volunteered with FTN since January of 2023. She is one of our treasured Board Members! The reason she volunteers for FTN is because she has recognized the need for an organization that helps feed children, specifically in Putnam County. She says, “When kids do not eat properly it can affect behavior and learning”!

She loves Putnam County because the community always comes together to help anyone in need! Brittany enjoys spending time with family, they love being outdoors, on the water, or in the woods! She is a lifelong Putnam County resident. She is happily married to a loving and supportive husband, with 2 children (a boy, 15, and a girl, 8). Happy Birthday Brittany!

March 29th - Gord Jordan

Gord has volunteered with Feed the Need for about a month and a half. We are happy to have him! He is a snowbird from Alberta, Canada and will be moving to Novia Scotia soon. He has volunteered with various organizations for the last 40 years and he not only volunteers with FTN now, but he also volunteers 1 - 2 days a week at the Putnam County Shelter. Gord feels that Putnam County is a very convenient place to live, it’s close to the river and the city. He also enjoys the climate (he might not say the same if he stays until August)! He likes “hot rodding”, classic car restoration and home renovation. Gord has a daughter that lives in northern Ontario. Thank you for joining the team and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
