Ellen's Book Review

S. J. Bennett's

Her Majesty the Queen Investigates Series

This wonderful series features Queen Elizabeth II as the detective, helped in her sleuthing by her aide, Rozie. Rozie is able to get about and question people more easily than the reigning monarch, but Elizabeth is always guiding the proceedings. These well-written, pitch-perfect whodunnits are always Editors’ Picks. In book 1, The Windsor Knot, Elizabeth solves the mystery of the shocking death of a guest in one of the Castle bedrooms. In book 2, All the Queen’s Men, a missing painting leads her to uncover a scheme of fraud that began in the 1980s and has led to two murders. In book 3, Murder Most Royal, a hand washes up near Sandringham, and Elizabeth recognizes it as belonging to a neighbor; a hunt is launched. New out: A Death in Diamonds (book 4).

“Bennett’s depiction of the warm, wise, and witty queen and the insights into her royal life are fascinating” --Publishers Weekly
