2024 Summer Camp Registration Is Open!

Quilt 2 still has openings.

Registration opens March 5th!

Who would have thought that at the end of February, we’d look out on the backfield at camp towards the lake and see all the dead grass and spots of water; no white stuff in sight! It’s a lot different from last year when we had to figure out where to put all the snow we received! A lot has changed, of course, in one year. As I mentioned, we have seen many staff come and go this year, and the staff we have had during this time has had to step up and serve to a greater extent and capacity. We have seen and reached the end of this transition with the recent hire of Moriah and Paul Ripplinger to serve as the Guest Services Director and Properties Associate, respectively....

Welcome to March! Can you believe that we are already two full months into 2024? As I worked in the office this morning, I heard the familiar buzz of a fly and I couldn’t help but feel appalled at its appearance this early in the season. But, when you have a winter as strange as this one has been, I’m sure that more unusual sights and sounds are still to come!...

Moriah Ripplinger

Position: Guest Services Director

Favorite food: Any and all breakfast food! Coffee, egg bake, waffles, fruit, hash browns, and (floppy) bacon being some of the best.

Favorite camp memory: Meeting my husband on summer staff in 2017.

Favorite summer activity: Anything on or behind a boat! Wakeboarding, tubing, you name it.

What drew you to LBBC: I grew up as a camper mainly attending 4th of July family camp and knew I wanted to be on summer staff one day! I did LIT as soon as I was old enough, followed by summer staff for 2 summers. We still couldn't stay away from camp and then returned every summer after that as a guest or to volunteer, and are so glad God has called us back to camp to be on full time staff!

What is one thing on your bucket list: I have always wanted to learn to surf! Surfing in Lake Superior one day is definitely a bucket list item.

If you had to eat one meal every day for the rest of your life, it would be: Chick-fil-a spicy chicken sandwich with pepper jack cheese, waffle fries, and lemonade with chick-fil-a sauce of course.
