MFA Talks the Talk - Part 2!
Maywood Fine Arts students talk about their feelings and dreams accompanied by movement and music accompanied by former MFA students Nathaniel Wilkerson, Darnell Parker, and MFA Music Teacher Carter Luke.
Drama's Got Joke!
Who doesn't enjoy a good knock-knock joke? Our drama students practice their delivery and have a good laugh. There are openings in drama right now, check out the MFA website for more info!
Craig Hall in Super-Bowl Ad
MFA Alumnus Craig Hall is in a new Square Space commercial featuring Dolly Parton that aired during the Super Bowl. We like the extended cut!
Featured Guest Teacher
Casimere Jollette, dancer/actor and one of the stars of the Netflix show, Tiny Pretty Things, came in to teach ballet the last week of February. This is her second time guest teaching at MFA brining not only her dance skills but her experience working in film and television. Check out her most recent work in Tom Petty's music video for the song Leave Virginia Alone.
Guest Artist Teachers Zooming In
Dancing on a Sunday! MFA Students had the opportunity to take a virtual ballet class with Julie Kent, the artistic director of the Washington Ballet and Wendy Whelan, the artistic director of New York City Ballet. What an incredible opportunity!
Classical Ballet for New Audiences
Filming has begun for this year's Classical Ballet for New Audiences production of Le Corsaire (The Pirate)! It will be shown publicly in multiple theaters at the end of this month. Tickets on sale soon! In addition, we have partnered with our local school district for virtual interactive workshops to get all their 3rd & 4th graders introduced to the beauty of ballet as well as a link to our filmed version of Le Cosaire.
Le Tour de Shore
Registration for our annual bike ride, Le Tour de Shore, has begun. We are so excited to get back on our bikes to ride 100 miles for the kids at MFA! We are following all local gathering guidelines and have our fingers crossed that we will be able to ride this year. Register at www.letourdeshore.com
