Pegasus FC News: March 2024

Hi All
As the winter season comes to a close, players will enter the final week with an increase in their small-side game IQ and improvement in their technical key qualities. Winter is a challenging season with players experiencing different levels of play, and it's been encouraging to see all working to raise standards.
Next week, we will start the 2024/25 season tryouts. This will allow us to regroup and ensure that the schedule and pathways are set for the start of the fall season without interrupting the spring season. Please ensure that the registration is complete on PlayMetrics so that your son or daughter is added to the system. If you have any questions about your child's playing environment and enjoyment, don't hesitate to contact your coach.
In the upcoming spring season, our teams will return to the fields and focus on playing within our principles of play. This approach allows us to work on controlling the game and instilling our style through the phases of play. We understand that this process takes time, and we need everyone to create a positive environment where players feel free to make decisions.
Lastly, we wish the high school girls good luck in their spring season. We will make sure that the Pegasus family is out to support them.
I look forward to seeing you at the fields.
Coach Grant Ratcliffe
Director of Coaching

Coach Joel or JD
Chicago
joel@pegasusfc.org
Coach Joel Diaz has his USSF Grassroots and is currently working on earning his USSF D coaching license. He is in his third year of coaching, previously working for the Chicago Fire soccer camps and Skomor S.C. in Skokie. He played D3 college soccer at Concordia University in Chicago and graduated with a Sports Management degree. In 2022, he played for the professional team, Club Deportivo ESPOLI, an Ecuadorian team in the second division.
Diaz is excited to join the Pegasus FC coaching staff to broaden his coaching experience by learning from the best.
“I have two rules for my players. Be respectful of and communicate with each other. Those are the keys to building a successful team,” he said.
He encourages risk taking on the field while ensuring his players are enjoying the game.
Welcome to the club Coach Joel!
