Hello dear friends and clients,
OK. We don’t like to brag, but this year was a doozy for snow. Winter 2019 has proven to be one of the more severe in decades. Flathead Lake froze over up to 95%. This is a phenomenon that was last seen in 1990 (

). However, there is nothing more peaceful than freshly fallen fluffy snow and if you have heat, food and a 4-wheel…life is beautiful! As you can see, our Swiss dogs are basking in the sun at Camp Lang! As I write this, the sun is shining and there is promise of crocus pushing their heads up through the snow and bright yellow daffodils will soon be bending in the spring breezes.
I do love spring in the Flathead Valley and apparently so do our clients. Already the listings are coming in because the forecast for 2019 is for more inventory and stable interest rates. What could be better for both buyers and sellers? Last year
was a remarkable real estate year for the Flathead Valley and FOR ME as well and there's no reason to think this coming year won't be even better. For the 4th year in a row, I am #1 in Bigfork and #3 in the Flathead Valley with 320 transactions over that period of time! In addition, I had 7 sales over $1M in the Bigfork area this past year.
What do I see for 2019? If you are thinking of selling your home this year,

for 5 good reasons to do that.
By the way, if you have recently cancelled or withdrawn your listing or it has expired, contact me. We'll get it listed and sold! My experience, consistent record and excellent negotiating skills will successfully lead you toward a sale at the right price. Call, text or email me. We'll have dinner (I have an in with the local sushi joint)!
See you soon and cheers! Denise

Testimonial
My wife and I spend considerable time hiring our Realtor, Denise Lang. Her track record and references showed us that she had the professionalism to sell our historical Flathead River farm. Her consistent and innovative style made her the obvious, best choice. Persistence is the virtue of selling real estate and Denise persevered through all the necessary logistics of closing this complicated transaction.
Thank you, Denise, for your effort to make this sale work well for the buyer and both Fran and me.

Denise's Book Corner...Ernest Hemingway's 1st novel (1926)
|
|
I was amazed to find out that Hemingway wrote this book when he was only 27 years old. It was his first novel and I am thinking, fairly autobiographical. Even though it takes place in 1920s Paris and Spain, I saw lots of parallels with our American cultures. Hemingway writes about the “lost generation” (named that by Gertrude Stein) that emerged from post-World War I. The lives of Hemingway’s characters seemed (to me) to parallel the post-Vietnam, post-recession world. Young people growing up in those eras found themselves caught in changing values and morals. Just like in the book, finding validation in the social order brings a myriad of conflicting human behaviors that resonate with my psychology background! The story revolves around a group of American and English expats who go on an excursion to Pamplona during the running of the bulls. Pamplona provides a colorful backdrop to the soap opera relationships of this group and the "running" they do to find themselves. It’s filled with a ton of dramatic tension of all types and is a wonderful classic read. An interesting tidbit is the title,
The Sun Also Rises
, comes from a Bible verse in the Ecclesiastes.

A full moon on the Equinox
This is one of those rare years when the full Moon lands right smack on the spring equinox—on March 20, 2019, in North America. This only happens three times a century, on average. Plus, it’s the third and final “super moon.”
Enjoy the extra-bright equinox full moon tonight!
