Announcing 2024 Vine Street project Build Days

We are excited to welcome volunteers on site for upcoming Vine Street Build Days! Learn more about ways to support this project through donations, sponsorship, or volunteering by visiting support.habitatslo.org.

Community Build days are open to the general public. Register online and we'll take care of the rest! Habitat will always provide the materials, tools, equipment, pre-event communication and safety training, day-of PPE (hardhats, vests, safety orientation) and qualified leadership on site.

When local businesses partner with us, we develop a relationship that connects social responsibility with business objectives. Round-Up in the ReStore this March and support Women Build

Continue to celebrate Women's History Month through March 31. Every Round Up transaction in our ReStores will automatically support our Women Build initiative and the upcoming Women Build Day on the Vine St. Residences April 27.

At Habitat SLO County we believe strong women build strong communities, and our Women Build initiative brings people together to create community and celebrate the pride that comes with being a woman in this field.

Get to Know Habitat SLO | Welcoming Colleen Stefanek to the team

Please join us in welcoming Colleen Stefanek, Volunteer & Marketing Coordinator. Colleen is a 4th generation SLO County resident. Previously, she ran a successful wedding planning business for14 years, and she continues to serve on event planning committees. You may have encountered her at her family's restaurant, Fin’s Seafood, which they have owned for 24 years. Growing up in the restaurant helped to set the foundation for Colleen's customer service experience and develop her people skills.

When she’s not working, she loves to spend time with her husband, son, dogs, and chickens. She says laughter is her favorite medicine!

Reflecting on our word of the year: Legacy

The older Colleen gets the more she thinks about the legacy she wants to leave behind for her son and her community. Helping others and creating a stronger bond with those around her is her passion. She’s looking forward to having a positive impact in SLO County through her work at Habitat for Humanity San Luis Obispo County. We're so happy to have her on the team.

Join Colleen at Love SLO Saturday April 13. The event kicks off at Mission Plaza at 8 am with free food, fun and festivities after check-in. Then, walk to the Habitat for Humanity Administrative Offices at 1264 Higuera St. where we'll paint two playhouses. Registration is now open online through Love SLO.

High-quality flooring is still available

Our ReStores recently received a generous donation of high-quality flooring including hardwood and carpet rolls. Hardwood samples including cherry, birch, walnut, maple, oak, hickory and more are now on display in Paso and San Luis Obispo stores. Quantities vary by type with lots ranging from 350 sq. ft. to 1700 sq. ft. Larger lots are moving quickly, while small lots are available in store now.

Volunteer with us at Love SLO April 13

We Love SLO! Join us for Love SLO 2024, an annual day of service on Saturday April 13. The event kicks off at 8:00 am at the San Luis Obispo Mission Plaza with free food and fun.

At 9:00 am we'll walk to the Habitat SLO Administrative Offices parking lot where volunteers will paint two playhouses for donation to local families. Register today and show your love for SLO by volunteering with us!

Join us Monday April 15 from 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm at SLO Provisions located at 1255 Monterey St. in San Luis Obispo for our April Year of Beer Wine Night celebration! We'll be behind the bar pouring during Non-Profit Monday.

Partial proceeds from wine sales and all guest-bartender tips will go toward building and restoring homes for members of our community.

Year of Beer Concert | Maggie Baugh at Cal Coast Beer Company

Tickets are on sale for Nashville Nights - Maggie Baugh in concert on April 18. Join us for this special Year of Beer event at Cal Coast Beer Company from 6 pm - 9 pm.

Maggie Baugh will play an acoustic set on this stop of her world tour and 100% of ticket sales will be donated to us!

Year of Beer at Oak and Otter Brewing Co. Raises $227

Thank you to every donor, drinker and diner who attended the January Year of Beer celebration at Oak and Otter Brewing in San Luis Obispo. Together we raised $227 for safe, affordable housing in San Luis Obispo!
