Quality Car Care Received February Honor

The Wells County Chamber of Commerce staff and Ambassadors surprised the staff of Quality Car Care as the February Member of the Month. Quality Car Care is located at 600 North Main Street in Bluffton. Rick King started Quality Car Care and his son, Shawn, currently runs and operates the business on a daily basis.

Shawn explained in the early 1980’s his dad started the business in their backyard garage. Although Rick was working full-time for another company, he started to build the side business and it grew. Rick traveled extensively for his employer and decided it was time to stay home more for the family. The business kicked off in 1985.

Quality Car Care has been in several different locations in Bluffton, but found their home in 2008 at the current site. “We started the business as a body shop and auto sales,” said Shawn. “We refined our services to oil changes, transmission services, engine changes, services on ball joints, struts, and shocks. We work specifically on gasoline engines on all makes and models of cars.”

Another type of service they offer for individuals and businesses that is unique are welding supplies, consumables, and gases. “We offer Mig tips, welding rods, wire, various parts, helmets, gauges, and tanks,” stated Shawn. “Our inventory expands as customers need supplies. There are not very many places in Wells County to get these types of supplies and we want to be able to offer this for our community.”

FIRST BANK OF BERNE DONATES TO CAYLOR NICKEL YMCA

Bluffton, Ind. – First Bank of Berne made a $500 donation to the Caylor Nickel YMCA. Pictured are (L to R) Erica Bennett, First Bank of Berne Branch Manager, Thom Miller, Executive Director, and Beth McConn, Membership and Wellness Director.

The $500 donation will be used to help offset the cost for familes in need so that everyone can be part of a healthy community. The Caylor Nikel YMCA strives to improve the quality of life for children and families by focusing on critical areas such as education, family services, and character development.

Bluffton, Ind. – First Bank of Berne made a $2000 donation to the Bluffton Parks Department. The $2000 donation will be go towards Bluffton's Health and Wellness events and to Rock Steady Boxing. Rock Steady Boxing is a boxing inspired fitness curriculum for people living with Parkinson's disease.
