In response to guest feedback, updates have been made to online ticket purchasing to improve experience. Benefits to purchasing tickets online in advance include:

  • Reduces wait times at the gates
  • Provides option to save tickets to your phone or print in advance, avoiding need to pickup at will call
  • Ordering tickets online in advance saves printing costs, reducing preservation fee associated with purchase
  • Saving tickets to your phone reduces environmental impact of printed tickets
  • When you purchase tickets for a friend or family member, you can share through email in advance of arrival

HP-DRB and Living in a National Historic District
Spring is approaching, which means a flurry of activity to spruce up our yards and cottages. Lakeside Chautauqua shares a reminder that homeowners must submit plans to the Historic Preservation and Design Review Board (HP-DRB) for any physical changes to ensure they are in keeping with Lakeside’s heritage, character and our designation in the National Register of Historic Places.

Lenten Study
Lakeside invites you to “come home” during the Season of Lent. Please join us for five weekly sessions on Wednesday evenings starting at 7:30 p.m. March 9 through April 6. Discussions will be led by the Rev. Dr. Tom Frost and Mrs. Kate Philibaum.

We'll examine the familiar story of two sons and their father, as told by Jesus (Luke 15:11-32). We will focus on Jesus’ story, a Rembrandt painting, and beloved spiritual writer Henri Nouwen’s "The Return of the Prodigal Son: A Story of Homecoming."
Lakeside Job Fair - Save the Date!
Looking for an internship, summer employment or field experience at Lakeside? Join us for a job fair on March 30 at Wesley Lodge. There will be two sessions, the first from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. and the second from 4-7 p.m. Representatives from Lakeside departments and select community merchants will be in attendance. Take advantage of this opportunity to connect with supervisors and learn more about positions that might interest you.

Openings are available for seasonal and year-round positions as well as seasonal internships. Whether you have worked at Lakeside before or are looking for something new, please consider joining the Lakeside team to support an incredible 2022 summer season. Staffing Announcements
Welcoming New Staff Members
Kevin Greer, Communications Manager 
Kevin joins us with over 20 years of journalism, editing and design experience, most recently at the Sandusky Register and formerly USA Today.
Bridget Sowers, Digital Media Coordinator
A Marblehead native and recent graduate of Capital University, Bridget has a degree in professional writing and journalism. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in rhetoric and composition at the University of Findlay.
Nancy Linn, Religious Life Administrative Assistant
With a Master of Science in Supervision and a Bachelor of Science in Special Education, 
Nancy joins us with 30 years of experience in education. A former teacher and current substitute teacher, she also has experience as a church office administrative assistant. 
Denise Robinson, Recreation and Aquatics Coordinator  
Denise joins us with nearly 20 years of experience in recreation and aquatics. Having worked as both an aquatics coordinator and supervisor in the past, Denise will make a great addition to Lakeside’s recreation department. 
Amy JonesManager of Cottage Rentals
Amy has extensive background in accommodations and hospitality. With experience in real estate and hotel front desk management, she will be a great asset in cottage rentals. 
Becky DoakCoordinator of Recruitment, Retention, and Training
Becky officially joins the human resources department with 25 years of experience after having conducted orientations and assisting with employee retention at Lakeside since 2016. She was the executive director for student success at Mount Union University for 19 years. Becky and her husband have been coming to Lakeside since they started dating in high school. 
Best Wishes to Outgoing Staff
Holly Gartner, Vice President of Marketing and Communications
Holly has stepped down from her role as Lakeside's vice president of marketing and communications in order to dedicate more time to her family. Since first coming to Lakeside as a high school camper, she has remained dedicated to Lakeside's mission and plans to continue to enjoy time here with her family for years to come.

"I'm grateful for the experience and look forward to continuing my support of Lakeside in other capacities moving forward," said Holly.

Holly joined the team in November 2020. During her time here, she made significant contributions to the marketing team to support Lakeside and its merchants. She played a large role in growing social media, enhancing design, and launching the first phase of Lakeside's updated website.

Lisa Redett, Director of Cottage Rentals
Lisa has accepted a position as an executive assistant at a company in Toledo. Lisa joined the Lakeside staff last fall and, in her time at Lakeside, reimagined the cottage rental experience including the implementing of a new rental website for reservations.

Pam Romo, Sr. Director of Human Resources
Pam Romo joined the Lakeside team last spring as the senior director of human resources and made a significant impact to support Lakeside team and recruit new employees.

Mark Your Calendars for Hoover and Spring Cleanup Days!
This summer season, Hoover Auditorium will once again open its stage for programming of all kinds. Lakeside needs your help to prepare for opening day

You’re invited to prepare Hoover Auditorium and Lakeside’s grounds with two special volunteering opportunities. Hoover Cleanup will take place Saturday, April 23 and Spring Cleanup will take place Saturday, May 7.
Hoover Cleanup
Join the Lakeside Chautauqua Volunteer Corps to prepare Hoover Auditorium for this summer.
Sign up for a shift below to help clean Saturday, April 23 from 8:30 – 10:30 a.m. or 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Please meet at the Hoover Auditorium entrance. Cleaning supplies, water bottles and granola bars will be provided by Lakeside staff. All ages are welcome!
Spring Cleanup

Join the Lakeside Chautauqua Volunteer Corps to prepare the grounds, gardens and facilities for this summer.

Sign up for Lakeside’s annual Spring Cleanup which will take place Saturday, May 7. Please meet in Walnut Plaza. Volunteering will begin at 9 a.m. and end at 12:30 p.m.
Available projects include: gardening, park cleanup, painting, power washing, venue cleaning and waterfront maintenance.
Coffee and donuts will be available on Walnut Plaza from 8:30–9 a.m., rain location Aigler room. Boxed lunches will be provided for those who register by Friday, April 29.
Volunteers who own gardening gloves, weeding knives and hoes are requested to bring these materials when they volunteer. Lakeside will provide this equipment for volunteers who do not have these materials.
Stay tuned as more volunteer opportunities become available. All are welcome and encouraged to participate as their schedule allows.
