LHC friends and alum recently had a fantastic day with Respite Retreats and is looking forward to the next Service Friday with Making Change on Friday, March 22, from 1 to 3 p.m. Come learn more about this nonprofit organization that changes lives through financial education as a result of its programs and counseling services. Attendees will also take part in some hands-on volunteering to ready the organization for their upcoming kickoff to Money Matters Month – Passport to Financial Literacy Event, planned for Saturday, April 6 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Harriet Tubman Cultural & Education Center. Join Leadership for Happy Hour on Thursday, March 14 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Howard Hughes’ The High Note. Reconnect with classmates and fellow alum for an enjoyable evening of fun and merriment in the Merriweather District. Please note that there is no cost to attend this event, but we are asking folks to RSVP for appropriate planning.

Leadership U (LU) is LHC's impactful leadership program for high school juniors who reside and/or attend school in Howard County. Applicants for the 2024 program should be entering their junior year during the 2024–2025 school year. Applications are now available online and are due April 1, 2024. The next Information Session is scheduled for Wednesday, March 13 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. (virtual). Volunteers are needed to help with HCPSS' workplace preparation program, Passport to the Future. Volunteers will conduct practice job interviews with high school students on Thursday, March 14, from 8 a.m. at Howard Community College, 10901 Little Patuxent Parkway, Columbia, MD 21044.
