Hello Oakdale,
March has been an exciting month here at the Oakdale Chamber of Commerce! We kicked off the month with our 77th Annual Oakdale Awards Dinner. Each year the Oakdale community nominates individuals, businesses, and organizations that have greatly contributed their time and efforts to enhance our community. We had some outstanding nominees, you could feel the anticipation and excitement in the air as the winners were announced. We are honored to celebrate such distinguished individuals, business, and organizations. Thank you for all that you all do for Oakdale!
The following week we held our 50th Annual Ag Scholarship Luncheon which raises scholarship funds for students looking to pursue Ag careers. Our guest speaker, Sheriff Jeff Dirkse, spoke about Rural Crime. Our Oakdale FFA students put together beautiful center pieces which were later donated to Astoria Senior Living, as well as Belmare Senior Living. Thank you to our Sponsors, American Ag Credit, Events at Ease, Oakdale Irrigation District, Yosemite Farm Credit, & Seed 2 Cup Coffee. Also, a huge thank you Oakdale Chamber Ag Committee for their hard work and dedication to planning & executing a successful event!
Do You Live or Work in Oakdale and Want to Make a Difference?
It's that time of year again! The Oakdale Chamber of Commerce is now accepting applications to join our Board of Directors and our Ambassadors Committee.
What does a Board Member do?
This is a “working board". The board will work closely with the Chamber staff to fulfil our mission statement of "maintaining the high quality of life in Oakdale through collaboration and facilitating connections between local businesses and the community." Board members are encouraged to attend the monthly mixers (third Thursday of each month), coffee connections, occasional ribbon cuttings, and OCC sponsored events. It is estimated that each board member devote 2-5 hours of work each month to their OCC role. The Board meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month.
What does the Ambassador Committee do?
The Ambassador Committee actively promotes and represents the Oakdale Chamber in the business community. Ambassadors travel monthly to local businesses to visit with new and existing members to welcome and/or thank them for their support of the Chamber. Ambassadors also assist the Chamber in their recruiting and retention efforts by speaking with or visiting with local businesses. The Ambassadors Committee meets the 2nd Tuesday of each month.
