CRM Ascent March 2023
Converge Rocky Mountain is a movement of dynamic, Christ-centered churches. We seek to transform lives and communities by strengthening and multiplying Jesus-filled believers and congregations in the Rocky Mountain West.
What Did I Miss At TTT 2023?

Pursuing Jesus First in Life and Ministry

  • Challenging talks by Converge President Jenkins on regaining the values of evangelism, discipleship, and the necessity to change.
  • Prioritizing prayer challenges by Pastor Dana Olson
  • In-depth training on recruiting and nurturing volunteer teams by Dr. Doug Fagerstrom. His Staff Member books are still available free of charge.
  • Relevant break-out training in several strategic ministry areas. Recordings are available.
  • Body-building connections in guided prayer and worship experiences
  • A very positive financial report was presented. Churches are giving generously to our shared mission, but we need to continue to increase our financial base so that we can start more churches and strengthen your church with increased resources and training.
  • A match offering was received of almost $4,000 dollars. With the Converge national matching grant, $8,000 is now available to underwrite several church planting projects.
  • Dr. Jim and Ina Smith were honored for their decades of missionary service in the Cameroon. Dr. Jim started a clinic and a radio ministry that is still going on today. They are members of Grace Mountain Church in Colorado Springs.
  • Three church merger models were featured and celebrated.
  • Pastor Loren Pankratz has taken the position of CRM VP of Church Starting
  • Pastor Drew Tarwater is CRM's new Director of Church Strengthening
  • The 2023 board of Overseers: Brad Cave, Keith Carson, Jim Gilman Wendell Geary, Norm Lewis, Loren Pankratz, Ramon Navarro, ex officio-Paul Mitton
  • Regional President Paul Mitton called our churches back to pursuing Jesus-our first love, staying connected to the vine, and making it a priority to spend alone time with the Lord. It's from that growing love relationship that powerful ministry will flow.
  • There will be increased opportunities this year for us to pray and worship together as teams of churches.

CRM Featured Church
Grace Mountain,
Colorado Springs, CO

God is at work! Six months ago, two churches were struggling to not just grow but to survive. Today, we have one church filled with excitement and enthusiasm! We have people from all over Colorado Springs attending. Kids and youth brighten up the church. We celebrate a partnership with HopeKids, designed for families with special needs children. Several families are reaching out with prayer requests.. We have a connection with the African church we host. We have grandparents and kids laughing together and worshipping together! God is at work! ..
We want your Easter stories!

It's time to celebrate! Send us your Easter weekend attendance and baptism numbers... but most of all, send us your Easter transformation stories. There is nothing better than to swap stories between churches of authentic, God-driven Easter life change. We'll send a report out the week after Easter, so plan to submit your information by April 10, 11, or 12. Send your Easter updates to Paul Mitton at
Summer Church
Mission Trip Opportunities

Utah- The CRM churches of Utah welcome you to bring a team to their beautiful but spiritually lost state this summer. It's not too far away and it is very workable in the funding department. The churches also have a menu of activities your group can choose from. Street evangelism, construction projects, VBS, teaching seminars, and much more.

Pastor Nate Ray shared this possibility. "This year, our Kids Camp is Jun 12-15 (Monday-Thursday). We could use some extra hands! If you can participate in this last-minute, short-term mission trip I want to talk with you. Contact Nate at You can also contact Utah Head Coach Loren Pankratz for more ideas.

Work Projects in the San Luis Valley
Eric Palmer, is a member/deacon, and Director of Missions at Living Water Bible Fellowship in Alamosa, Colorado. He is also Vice-President of CCSP (Christian Community Service Projects), which is an inter-denominational non-profit organization that seeks to help the residents of the San Luis Valley. Their mission is to address the physical and spiritual needs of people in the San Luis Valley community in the name of Christ through service projects.  Workgroups (mostly youth groups) come during the summer for a week and volunteer their time and talents to be the hands and feet of Christ. Building handicap ramps, painting, and yard work are a few examples of the projects summer teams complete. They would love to partner with CRM churches and provide ministry opportunities relatively nearby for youth groups or other groups in your church. Your Church Can Meaningfully Connect With Disabled Or Special Needs Individuals

Grace Mountain, a new CRM church plant, is intentionally reaching out to families with special needs and providing a welcoming church family to connect with. Over 1 billion people around the world live with disabilities, yet this group goes largely unreached by the church at large. Maybe it's a lack of compassion, training, knowledge of the essential resources needed, or a comprehensive ministry game plan, but far too often these incredible people and families are left to navigate faith and life on their own. Converge believes that God may be calling some of you and your church to change that.

We are partnering with Joni and Friends to better equip your church in this important arena. By clicking the link below, you will discover a wealth of resources. You will also find the book, Responding with Compassion, by Jennifer McNalley to be a big help

Every life matters to God, and consequently, they should matter to us. Take a few moments to let God speak to you about the role He wants you to play in reaching and encouraging this very important people group.
Last Call For CRM Baseline Survey...Really!
Our CRM movement is not all about numbers, but numbers do help us identify factors concerning our health and growth as a region of churches. Church leaders are asked to click the link below and complete the short baseline survey if they haven't done so already. We appreciate the time you will invest in making our movement better, and your ongoing ministry partnership in Converge Rocky Mountain.
