Women’s Financial Empowerment: 

Catalyst for Gender Equality and Societal Progress


During Women's History Month, the Iranian American Women Foundation's New York Chapter held a notable fireside chat as part of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women. The event featured Hedieh Fakhriyazdi, Chief Diversity Officer at White & Case and Co-Chair of the IAW Foundation NY Chapter, alongside Nadereh Chamlou, Nonresident Senior Fellow at the Atlantic Council and former Senior Advisor at the World Bank.



The discussion centered on the importance of women's financial empowerment and its impact on household dynamics, future generations, and societal equity. The speakers highlighted the essential role of financial literacy from a young age and shared insights from recent research and real-life examples. This session reinforced the critical link between financial empowerment and broader social progress.
