Spring class registration began Tuesday, February 20 and ends on Tuesday, March 5. Paper registration forms and class schedule will be available at the front desk. You may also register for classes online here: noncredit.aacc.edu.

Programs & Entertainment

Billiards

Monday through Friday starting at 8:30 am. Tables available all day.

Bridge

Join us for Bridge every Thursday from 1 pm until 3 pm. Registration is not required but please be sure to sign in when you arrive.

Cards: Pinochle

Join us for cards every Monday and Wednesday from 9 am until 12 pm in the library. Pinochle is played regularly.

BINGO

Bingo! Tuesdays from 12:30 pm until 2 pm. Please be sure to bring a prize for the prize table. Prizes should have an approximate value of $2 for the regular table and $4 for the special table.

Easy Sing-along

On Mondays from 11 am to 11:30 am join this group led sing-along. This half hour event will get you singing and moving all from the comfort of your chair.

Beginners Line Dancing

This workshop is held on Mondays from 2 pm until 3:30 pm. Participation is free to all center members.

Quilting

Tuesdays from 8:30 am until 12 pm.


Members work on their quilting projects and share their quilting knowledge. Participants are encouraged to bring their own machines.

Grief Support

This is intended for individuals who would like to share and receive support amid experiencing difficult loss. Wednesdays at 11 am.

Flower Arranging

Presented by the Gibson Island Garden Club. Participants will create beautiful floral arrangements with all supplies provided. Participants are asked to bring their own garden shears if able.

This is a monthly opportunity to engage with others around mental wellness and discuss mental health, the brain, and related tips and resources. Presented by Alágra Bass, a licensed clinical social worker who oversees mental health pilot programs for the Department of Aging & Disabilities and provides therapeutic services in the community. For more information, you can reach her at 410-507-3724.

The Yoga of Eating

Presented by Sandra Nicht, M.S. Yoga Therapy & Cert. Ayurvedic Yoga Therapist.


Learn about the philosophy that underlies the indigenous medical health management practices of India. Similar in many respects to Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ayurveda (which means "Knowledge of Life" in Sanskrit) uses the theory of Five Great Elements which combine to create every substance in the Created Universe. Understanding how to recognize when we are out of balance and what to do to return to balance using food and movement as our medicine helps us stay healthier and live better lives.

Sassy Seniors Cooking Club

Thursday, March 28 from 10:00 am until 11:30 am.


Join Chef Melissa Sherwood of Deliciously Nutritious for the

SASSY SENIORS COOKING CLUB.


SASSY SENIORS will meet once a month, for hands on cooking lessons, nutrition counseling, recipe swapping and good old-fashioned conversation, friendship, and fun! Each month participants will carry home a yummy edible gift to share with their loved ones.

After you have signed up, if you have specific dietary restrictions or allergies, please email Melissa Sherwood at delishdish4@gmail.com to have the menu tailored to your dietary needs.


In March join us as we learn about the Incredible Edible Egg. Then we will dye beautiful Easter eggs to be used in our handmade Easter breads. Each participant will create a braided Easter bread to bake and share at home.

Anne Arundel Community College is currently looking for instructors.


This part-time position teaches college managed, non-credit Community Education courses that focus on personal interests such as arts, history, politics, humanities and culture, computers, health and wellness, hobbies and craft topics. Instruction is provided to students who are 60 plus.


Pay rates for non-credit courses in Continuing Education are commensurate with education and experience qualifications.


Instructors should have teaching experience and an expert knowledge of the topic they are proposing to teach. Instructors will be required to complete all forms and documentation related to the course and all documentation required by the college.
