Cape Coral Fire Department Achieves Accreditation

This 5-year goal was accomplished thanks to the combined efforts of the mayor, city council, all city departments, and the hardworking men and women of the CCFD.

Accreditation is a rigorous process that ensures the department meets industry standards and continually strives for improvement to provide the best service to our community. The CCFD must submit annual compliance reports and apply for reaccreditation in 2029.

New Lights Installed at Pelican Baseball Complex

The installation of new ballfield lights at Pelican Baseball Complex to replace the ones damaged during Hurricane Ian is complete, and full-time programming resumed at the facility on February 12.

Lights were upgraded from a standard Carolina Mast fixture to an LED fixture, which is much more energy efficient and keeps the lights focused more on the field of play with no effect on surrounding perimeter areas.

Pelican Baseball was the first of four Athletic facilities to replace ballfield lights with LED lights in the coming months. Next on the list is the Cape Coral Sports Complex. The other parks receiving light upgrades are Strausser BMX Park softball fields and Caloosa Park football fields.
