Helping Children With Challenges
Building Blocks for Kids, established in 2003, is on a mission is to provide support, resources, scholarships, and hope to families who have children with physical, emotional, and/or developmental challenges. You can make such a difference through therapy, home modifications, medical equipment, vehicles, and much more. See their kids’ stories.

The board is currently implementing new strategies and directions. It seeks to add two new members who want to help create happier and healthier lives for children with special needs. An interest in outreach, marketing and/or development is also desirable.

Free Bodies & Souls in Northside
CAIN (Churches Active in Northside) is a neighborhood ministry that transforms lives and inspires hope by providing nutritious food, crisis assistance, resources, and compassion. Located in the Northside community, it serves residents of 45223 & surrounding areas.  Its focus is on fighting poverty, hunger, and homelessness. CAIN has received the top-rated award designation from GreatNonprofits, based on reviews from guests, volunteers, donors and other stakeholders.

As community needs are growing, the organization is looking at future expansion of its services. New board and/or committee members are needed to help plan for current and future needs. The Board seeks those with a strong interest in CAIN's mission and/or experience with pantry services. Skills in such areas as HR, IT, facility management, finance, and fund development are also desirable.  You can be part of CAIN's vision to shape the future by inspiring hope and providing basic essentials to nourish body and soul.

Promote Self-Sufficiency in 14 Kentucky Counties
Catholic Charities of Covington, established in 1931, serves all people in its Diocese who lack basic human needs, including physical, spiritual, or emotional, regardless of religious beliefs. It is a member of Catholic Charities USA and partners with a variety of organizations to meet community needs. It supports and empowers clients to achieve self-sufficiency by providing guidance, tools, and life-skills. The comprehensive array of services includes social work case management, a soup kitchen, mobile food pantry, mental health services, jail ministry, housing services, and much more. The agency has experienced a 40% increase in volume over the last 2 years. Seeking members for its Advisory Board and committees.

Prepare Tomorrow’s Workforce
iSPACE provides innovative and engaging STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) educational programs in Greater Cincinnati. Established 20 years ago, it is a one-of-a-kind
organization with a mission to ignite passion for science and technology so that all learners are prepared
to thrive in tomorrow’s workforce.
 
Through wonderfully immersive, hands-on, minds-on experiences, iSPACE fosters interest in STEM and develops pathways to STEM careers, including field trips, summer camps, robotics competitions, professional development, and other programs. iSPACE offers exceptional programs for students, with an emphasis on K-8 and underrepresented groups. It’s also known for its Educator Academy for STEM teachers. Seeking both committee and Board members who love life-long learning, workforce development, and education. Skills in finance, marketing, and PR are also of
interest.

Make Cincinnati Greener for All
Through education, revitalization, and environmental initiatives, Keep Cincinnati Beautiful turns people into catalysts for change. Its focus is to build environmental stewardship for safer, cleaner, and more beautiful neighborhoods in all Cincinnati zip codes. It is supported by many Cincinnati business partners and organizations. In just the past 10 years, Cincinnati Beautiful has educated 200,000+ children, planted 100,000+ trees and flowers, coordinated 120,000+ volunteers, and painted 1,000+ buildings. It also collects millions of pounds of litter and tires, removes graffiti, and shuts down illegal dumpsites.

The board is expanding and seeks those interested in the environment and neighborhood development. Join as a committee or board member to accomplish the many initiatives planned and already underway. Skills in public relations, marketing, and social media are desirable.

Bringing Help and Hope to West Chester and Liberty Township
Reach Out Lakota puts help and hope into the hands of its community. It operates as an independent food and clothing pantry with a mission to give a helping hand up to those in need living in West Chester/Liberty Township. In addition to food and clothing services, it also provides holiday toys and meals, school supplies, financial literacy classes, and refurbished computers.
With a 30-year legacy, the organization experienced its biggest year ever in 2022 in the number of people served. Its 180 volunteers and small staff make a huge community impact. As the board pursues its recently updated strategic plan, it’s ready to bring on new board members to steer current and future work. You can be part of the vision to shape the future by inspiring hope in others.

Inspire Generations to Look at Stars
At the Cincinnati Observatory, you will educate, engage, and inspire our community regarding astronomy and science through field trips, scout programs, school activities, public tours, and much more. Dedicated in 1843, the Observatory currently reaches 35,000 people each year on campus and through its community outreach. You can help preserve a national treasure as you also inspire others with wonder. Eight generations of Cincinnatians have been able to see this "Birthplace of American Astronomy" and to experience the wonders of the universe.  As a Board member, you will help to guide amazing programs for K-12 schools, the public, connections to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) and much more.
