In March, we had over 600 visits to the food pantry and registered 39 new customers. Our groceries provided nearly 20,000 meals for local families.

The food pantry has remained open for the last 42 years only because of our generous and loyal supporters. We cannot tell you how grateful we are for your help providing for our neighbors in need!

Every $1 donated enables us to continue to feed our most vulnerable community members.

Our Assistance Program provides a safety net for local families and individuals who are struggling to make ends meet. In March we provided emergency financial support for 26 families. Here are a few expenses we covered that demonstrate the impact this program makes on people's lives:

  • Paid for cremation expenses for a food pantry customer whos only living relative is a senior battling cancer

  • Provided a safety net for a young family while they struggled through a difficult time. We covered rent, food, a car repair and helped make arrangements for them to move to a more affordable area where they have family support

  • Helped a senior with cancer receive social security, food stamps and provided him with gas cards, grocery cards and food

  • Paid a month’s rent for a single mother with a sick adult son that is requiring her full time care

  • Repaired a septic tank for a single father of two children

Heart of the Hamptons gets a new home! Thank you to Southampton Village Mayor Jesse Warren and the Board of Trustees for leasing 44 Meeting House Lane and approving our application to operate in this new space!

We still need to receive building permits and undergo a renovation in order to make this dream a reality but this was a big step forward in getting there!

If you want to show your commitment to those in need by creating a legacy for your family at our new home, email molly@heartofthehamptons.org to discuss available options.

MARCH SPOTLIGHT

We've teamed up with Southampton Little League to provide scholarships for local children to play baseball and softball this spring. Sports have the power to unite like nothing else!

Every child, regardless of their ability to pay, deserves the right to play!

1. What is the best way to help?
Monetary donations directly help us to feed our neighbors in need. Donate here!
2. Are you accepting food or clothing donations?
We are always in need of food donations. Please make sure the food items are not expired. Currently, we are only accepting Spring clothing, pants, sweaters, sweatshirts, socks, shoes. The drop-off times are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10AM-2PM. Please call our office to schedule (631-283-6415).

Yes! Please sign up on our website here
4. How does one register for the food pantry?
One can register ahead of time by calling our office (631-283-6415) to speak with our bilingual staff. New customers are welcome to visit during food pantry hours- Wednesdays and Fridays from 10AM-12PM. Upon arrival, they will be asked to fill out a registration form and provide valid identification. This form is used solely for reporting numbers to the food bank so we receive enough food to feed our customers.
This organization is a perfect example of the impact a community can make when we work together. Thank you for your commitment to making our town a better place for our neighbors in need.

Warmest regards,
