WILL YOU ANSWER THE CALL?
Wednesday, March 10, 2021
We know God protected Moses as a baby because God had a purpose for him. Moses chose God over Pharaoh. Goodness over evil. Eternal rewards over material rewards. God over idols.

Now, God calls upon Moses to serve him, going out as the rescuer of the Israelites so they can experience freedom. Instead, Moses’ response is negative and full of fear and doubt, even after God explained what he needed Moses to do. Moses forgot to trust God who had proved his love for him, instead depending on his own abilities and all he can think about is his weaknesses. God knew Moses’ weakness as he created him and chose him in spite of his slow speech. Moses did not believe that he could convince the Israelites to listen to him, so he fought God’s plan.

When has God called you to go out for him and, feeling unqualified, you resisted saying “not me,” missing out on the blessing that God had for you? We need to remember that when God calls us, like those in the Bible, he called those who were deemed to be weak. When they acted in obedience, God provided all they needed to fulfill his plan. It is the same way with us. When we respond by refusing, are we not really saying that we doubt God’s abilities to make it happen through us? That we are not worthy even though he created us in his image. Remember that God is strength and power and authority as are we when we walk in obedience.

Moses angered God through his disobedience and lack of faith, so God called Aaron to be his messenger. It amazes me that God allowed Moses to participate in this after he blatantly refused. God may or may not allow us to be a small part of what he asked us to do if we say no. I wonder what blessings Moses missed out on by his refusal. When we refuse to go for God, we will never know what blessing he had for us.

When God calls you will you answer the call? I have found that the times God calls me and I am the most unsure that is when he blesses me the most.
