ABIGAIL ADVISES DAVID
Tuesday, September 21, 2021
In the communication between David and Abigail, we see David as a very good example, showing us how to react to correction. When Abigail intercepted him and told him to turn from his evil decision, he was willing to listen to her.

The people of Israel had a history of reacting the wrong way whenever they were rebuked. David’s response to Abigail is worth noting. David praises God for keeping him safe from sin. He not only thanks Abigail for her intervention, but prays she will be blessed because she chose to tell him. He even decided to turn from his evil path.

One of our friends was introduced to a business venture. He was influenced by some friends who told him that it is going to be a very lucrative business, and he would have no regrets. He mentioned about it to my husband, Wilfred. From what he described, Wilfred knew that something was wrong, and he advised him not to venture into it, giving him the reasons. Wilfred pleaded with him not to go into this business. He was not willing to listen, but we remember praying for him, and after some time, he decided against the idea. Later, he shared with us that all his friends lost a lot of money by agreeing to be business partners for the particular project. He was thankful to us for the timely advice, which prevented him from losing his money. He now reads the Bible daily and believes in prayer.

We all go through experiences in our lives, when we almost got into some kind of danger, but through it all, the all-knowing God makes a supernatural way of escape. Through God’s grace, we were saved from taking the wrong path or making the wrong decisions when we were at the crossroads. God places caring people along the way unbeknownst to us, and the right word at the right time saved us from a lot of trouble.

God places caring and discerning people along the way, who will give us godly advice, so that we will not make the wrong choices.
