What is your most prized possession? As I make my mental list, it is apparent that the things I prize most are things passed down to me from my grandmothers and parents. These are priceless! With this in mind, Ahab’s requests of Naboth seems unreasonable. He wanted Naboth to turn over his vineyard (something that took years to cultivate) so that he could have a convenient vegetable garden! That vineyard was Naboth’s inheritance and he refused in order to be faithful to God.
I hope and pray that all of us would prove faithful under similar tempting circumstances.
Never let greed cause you to be unfaithful.
