Isn’t it amazing the people God uses to get done the things he has planned? Do you ever imagine what God has planned for you and your life? What a privilege it would be to have God speak to us as he spoke to those in the Bible. In Chapters 32–33 of Deuteronomy, we read of Moses’ song and of his blessings to the tribes of God’s people. Then Moses’ life is over and we read:
“There has never been another prophet in Israel like Moses, whom the LORD knew face to face.”
God’s hand was on Moses throughout his entire life, the beginning and the end, the ups and the downs, the questions and the answers. At one point, God told Moses he would destroy the Israelites and start over with him. But Moses prayed and pleaded and had God’s ear and he knew God, face to face. We know this because when we read of the transfiguration of Christ, Jesus is seen with Moses and Elijah. Yet Moses was, in many ways like you and me. He obeyed, he disobeyed, he sinned, he was forgiven and through it all, he talked with God. That is the truth we need to understand for ourselves. God is ready to listen, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and he relishes the time that we give to him. Someone once told me you should try to spend one hour with God every day; and if you are too busy to do that, you probably need to spend two hours with God every day. God loves you. God wants you. And one day, soon, we too will see God face to face.
“This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.”
