In today’s world, there is an app for everything. We can get into shape, buy our groceries, book a trip (prior to COVID-19) or follow what happens during pregnancy. If we have a meeting we don’t want to forget, we can add it to our phone or put it in our mobile calendars, and we never forget anything (unless we forget to keep our phone charged, which I may or may not be guilty of doing)! Imagine how the Israelites were charged with remembering how many of each animal they were to slaughter, which gender, the age of the animal, what day of the month, how much flour, how much and what kind of oil? And on which days am I supposed to do all this? Their scroll “app” must have been full to running over to remember the specifics! But were the specifics important? To God they were! He gave Moses specific instructions and he expected Moses to reiterate the specifics to the Israelites so they would fully rely on him.
God may, in ways, be like the commercial that is so familiar to us — “Can you hear Me now? Good!” When God speaks — Listen!
