WHAT WILL YOU CHOSE TO DO?
Monday, June 14, 2021
Life is full of choices and every one of us makes choices every day. It may start with hitting the snooze on the clock or getting up when the alarm goes off. Do I exercise today or not? What will I wear today? What will I have to eat; or do I skip a meal and just snack and graze throughout the day? Do I go to work, or do I take the day off? Do I go to school, or do I skip my classes today? In the car, do I speed or obey the speed limit? Who will I see today, or who will I visit, or will I just be by myself? In many of our lives, we may not think we really have choices. Our lives are often run by what others that are in our lives want and expect. It may be our children or our spouses, our bosses or our work situations, our parents or even our church. Perhaps the biggest choice we have to make is: do I obey God or disobey God? This is the question that Moses gave to the people of God before they entered the Promised Land.

“Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live!”

In the chapters and verses preceding this, Moses had laid out the blessings of obeying God or the consequences of disobeying God. It was now up to the people to decide. And, for you and I, we too must decide. Your decision will not only effect your day but your eternity.

“This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.”
