The Spirit of the Lord came upon Samson in the womb. He was a special child to accomplish special things for God and Israel. He was born a Nazarite. His mother trained him in the meaning of being a Nazarite. But Samson went his way instead of God’s way many times.
God used Samson to punish the Philistines. Even though Samson strayed many times, the Spirit of the Lord came upon Samson to accomplish God’s plans. Though Samson made poor choices, against the vows of the Nazarites, God was at work through him.
Samson trusted in the Spirit of the Lord to be near at his final moment when chained to the pillar of the temple. And the Spirit of the Lord was near. Samson accomplished more in death than in life against the Philistines.
Ever feel like God cannot use you because you have strayed or you feel you are out of God’s will? The Spirit of the Lord stays near to his children. Call upon the Lord and he is always ready to help you accomplish his plan. One may face challenges that seem insurmountable. Many are impossible in one’s strength. Trust in God to provide the strength needed at just the right time.
Heavenly Father, forgive my lack of trust in your Spirit being ever-present and ever-ready to grant me strength. I need your Spirit. Amen.
