Celebrate
the arrival of �douard Manet's world-famous
painting, The Dead Toreador, with a Spanish-themed party
at WAM. The Museum will unveil Manet's masterpiece in the gallery,
and WAM Assistant Curator Nancy Burns will explain how Manet's
fascination with Spanish art and culture inspired him to create the
renowned painting of the slain
bullfighter.
The
Flamenco Dance Project, donned in spectacular
costumes, will perform pulsating flamenco shows throughout the
evening. Visitors will also taste a delicious sampling of Spanish
tapas and wine. At 9pm in the Renaissance Court, Museum Director
Jim Welu will pull the winning ticket for the low-odds raffle of a
trip for two to Spain.
Admission to the party is $30 for Members
and $40 for nonmembers and can be purchased online until 5pm on Wednesday,
