Man In The Mirror!!! 3/17/24
James 1:23-24 (KJV)
23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.
I was SHOCKED back in “the real world” this past week with a seemingly innocent glimpse of my physique in a mirror. The memory is seared into my brain.
I “beholdest” myself and what I beheld was not pretty-Please reread the above Writing of James.
SMILE!! I must confess the actual thinking of the male species!! WE think/BELIEVE that WE MEN are “all that AND a bag of potato chips!!!” SORRY men, but YOU know it is the truth.................................
WE think/BELIEVE that ALL the ladies are bewitched by OUR good looks and wonderful, and YES, sexy personas-Can I get a UOOOOO?YUCK from the women-folk??????????????????
Most lady-folk well understand that the ole barn always look better with a good paint job, but not WE MEN!!!! May I restate:

Having TRUTHFULLY and painfully confessing us MEN-folk, nobody, including you lady-folk need take a too long look at oneself.
Romans 7:18 (KJV)
18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.
The GREAT news is that our flesh is only temporary. Even the careful cultivation of one's body is fleeting:
1 Timothy 4:8 (KJV)
8 For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.
No matter how well one cares for our earthly body....time catches us all....................
The problem is how WE view others!!!!! WE fail to recognize that the changes in others are NOT as drastic to US!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Must I reiterate:

The same thesis holds true when WE (lady-folk included) view OTHER folk-men-folk AND women-folk equally-spiritually..............
THEY are sinful and spiritually immature, BUT now I!!! I AM A SPIRITUAL GIANT!!
My doctrine, my Biblical knowledge is above reproach and I, alone hold the keys to this thing called life.
WE look at OTHERS struggling with sin and poor decisions that WE also faced and FAILED and turn our faces in angry disgust-forgetting that WE made the exact same wrong decisions and WE also had to learn the old, hard way.
My dear daddy called it “THE SCHOOL OF HARD KNOCKS!!!”
OUR wise and beloved Savior, when confronted by a mob of angry/self-righteous men declared to them:

I can almost hear some of YOU saying OUCH!!! Are YOU a stone caster????????
Have YOU forgotten where YOU came from???
Have YOU forgotten that YOU also failed that same test several times and yet, Jesus still loves and forgives YOU???????????????????????

The TRUTH is that NONE of us-MALE NOR FEMALE-is or ever was “ALL THAT AND A BAG OG OF CHIPS!!”
My beloved and departed friend FORREST HILL used to often quote:
“I AIN'T NOTHING!! I NEVER WAS ANYTHING AND I'LL NEVER BE ANYTHING!!!”
You may not agree with his “wisdom” but the fact remains:

TODAY, may WE, both men-folk and women-folk, get off out high and mighty horses of SELF RIGHTEOUSNESS and:
“TAKE A LOOK AT OURSELVES AND WE MAY LOOK AT OTHERS DIFFERENTLY
BY PUTTING OUR HAND IN THE HAND OF THE MAN FROM GALILEE!!!!”
