Oakland Community Health Network for funding so that the Alliance can provide free trainings to all community members and businesses in Oakland County.
We have expanded our Family & Recovery Support Groups to include all people affected by addiction not just narcotics. In our efforts to shatter the stigma, we recognize that addiction is devastating to all members in a family as well as the communities that we live in.
September 9th-7:00-8:30 p.m - Grief Group- Royal Oak Community/Senior Center, 3500 Marais Ave, Royal Oak, MI 48073 Led by Jan Ivinson, a mother who lost her son to the disease of addiction.
September 12th-7:00-8:30 p.m - North East/ North Oakland-Support Group - Orion Center - 1335 Joslyn Rd, Lake Orion, MI 48360 National Recovery month - panel speakers from those in recovery.
September 16th - 7:00-9:00 p.m - South East Support Group - 425 N. Main St., Clawson, MI 48017-Amy Buchanan - Ending the stigma, hope and recovery. Former Assistant Principal at Smith Middle School who was featured in the media recently that publicly revealed her addiction to prescription pain medication. Join us to hear her candid story about the chaos that comes with addiction and her inspiring change as she begins her recovery.
