Estrella, Luna, and Cielo are identical triplets that were born at 27 weeks. Tina, their mother, started to notice some delays and around 10 months were referred for developmental therapy. Vicki Hodges, Partners In Learning developmental therapist started providing in-home therapy weekly for the girls. Vicki incorporated the entire family in the therapy sessions including their older brother and sister.
"Social games were a favorite activity, and the day usually ended with the entire family playing a game of hide-and-seek. We also included the girls in the daily activities such as cooking tortillas and setting the table." Research proves that children learn best in their natural environment. Partners In Learning therapist are able to go into the child's home and provide therapy. "The family spoke both Spanish and English. It was important that I incorporate both languages so the girls could learn to speak and comprehend both languages."
Our early intervention was a success, as Estrella, Luna, and Cielo are completely bi-linglual and entering Kindergarten this fall!
