The Many Opportunities of June

I awoke today with a sense of abundant opportunity--just because it's June and because so many things happen in this pivotal month: graduations, weddings, Father's Day, summer solstice, and the long-awaited kick-off to barbeques, family vacations, and perhaps some summer reading.

June is a time to celebrate being alive--and to spruce up those areas of our lives that may be in need of some refreshing or updating, sorting or throwing away. I know my garage is begging for some attention. (How did it get so cluttered over the winter?) And I feel a certain sense of urgency around the idea of cleaning out some mental baggage that I didn't even know was hanging around.

For me, the opportunity to let the sun of June shine into consciousness is perhaps its greatest gift. In the light of a more generous attitude toward self and others that earlier mornings and later evenings can bring, I discover an openness of heart and mind that comes from taking stock of how I am being in the world.

Two weeks ago I spent the entire day in Yellowstone National Park, driving roads I had never explored, sitting beside the gently flowing waters of the Gibbon River as it spread unfettered across an enormous meadow, and relishing the expansive beauty of wilderness that goes on further than the eye can conceive. And in the midst of it all, a sense of universal wonder that I should be here to witness nature's exuberant emergence into the sunlight.

This month of June, I wish for you the same abundant enthusiasm I felt that day in the Park. May you find new inspiration and awareness in what is reflected back to you from life and love in all their many guises.

Love and blessings,
Cheryl
PS: I almost forgot to mention that The LIGHT Process: Living on the Razor's Edge of Change was named a Best in New Non-Fiction finalist by International Book Awards.

One lovely thing about June is its ability to inspire me to write. I'm working on some new pieces (still a secret) and the blogs are flowing. Here are the most recent postings:

Leaving Freud Behind: Are You Trapped in Other People's Dogmas?
Oftentimes it is we ourselves who must precipitate dramatic shifts that feel so much like jumping off a very high cliff into oblivion. This is what C. G. Jung did in his break with Freud, and the full scope of future knowledge about the psyche was set on course for greater discoveries--by Jung and those who came after him.
