Happy September! This month, we celebrate Labor Day, a federal holiday in the United States that pays tribute to the contributions and achievements of American workers. In observance of this significant day, all OEI office locations will be closed. We seize this moment to acknowledge the tireless efforts and commitment of all workers, expressing our gratitude for their invaluable contributions to society. At OEI, we are dedicated to honoring the efforts of every individual, ensuring our services and resources are accessible and inclusive. Your ongoing support is deeply appreciated, and we invite you to continue engaging with us as we endeavor to enable every individual to realize their utmost potential.

Lianne celebrated her 10th anniversary at the bakery with a special event! The CEO of WOU, her workplace support provider for the last decade, traveled from New Hampshire to celebrate and congratulate her. This occasion served as a perfect moment to acknowledge her achievements. With a fondness for macarons and the color teal, we presented her with custom-made macarons in the shape of the number 10, filled with chocolate and s'mores flavors! Her job coach, Dan, has supported her since the beginning and has observed her significant growth, making her a vital member of our bakery team.
Starfish Greenhouse & Farm Stand | With deep sadness we shared the news of Natasha Harriman's passing this past April. This wonderful young woman was a participant in our Searsport location and a beloved member of our community. We invite you to join us in commemorating her memory.

This month we would like to recognize Lisa Lane as OEI’s August “Star of the Month. It is with great enthusiasm that we introduce Lisa as our new Per Diem Auburn Case Manager. Lisa brings with her a wealth of experience and an unwavering commitment to her role, making her an invaluable addition to our dedicated team. Although Lisa's position is Per Diem, you may still see her around the office during the week, as she actively engages with our team and the individuals we serve. Her hard work, attention to detail, and genuine passion for making a difference resonate deeply with our values. Beyond her professional life, Lisa has a love for gemstones and treasures the time spent with her two children and partner, Jim. Please join us in giving Lisa a warm welcome to the team!
In August, OEI participated in the "Caring for Kids" initiative, a part of our monthly kindness act. We provided local classrooms with essential supplies and volunteered our time to assist teachers in preparing for the students' return.

“The windows are open, admitting the September breeze: a month that smells like notepaper and pencil shavings, autumn leaves and car oil. A month that smells like progress, like moving on. Thank you, September, for reminding us that change can be beautiful!" ~ Unknown
