Importance of Outreach
Gabe Rand, DBE Supportive Services Specialist

While social media marketing is important to marketing your business, products and services, it’s just as important to attend in-person networking events. Meeting business owners face-to-face often holds more value than digital impressions. Attending local events like chamber breakfasts, after-hours, or getting involved in industry groups can open the potential for opportunities you would never have been aware of otherwise. Go ahead, put yourself out there!

Having a hard time finding events to attend? Check the bottom of this newsletter. Each month I try to highlight three to four meaningful events throughout the state that provide you an opportunity to learn and/or network. If you don’t see anything local to you, or don’t see a good fit for your industry, reach out to me at grand@emdc.org. As the DBE Supportive Services Specialist I can dig deeper.

About the Maine DBE Program

EMDC's Maine DBE Program helps women and minority-owned small businesses by providing individualized assistance. By working with a DBE Supportive Services Specialist, Maine businesses receive the tools and resources to sell their goods or services to the Maine Department of Transportation. We create a level playing field and remove barriers to help businesses statewide. Maine DBE Supportive Services is an EMDC program funded by the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Highway Administration and administered by the Maine DOT.
