Making Disciples of Jesus Christ for the Transformation of the World

Dear, Magnolians,

In our journey of faith, hope serves as a powerful force, anchoring us to the steadfast promises of God. It is a gift that goes beyond optimism, rooted deeply in our relationship with the God. This hope is not born from within but is a gift of God, a testament to the faithfulness of the Creator. It is through this hope that strength and encouragement are found, not something we can make, but is a blessing from God. It is the beacon that guides us through the roughest seas of life, promising that despite the storms, that God who remains unshakeable, offering peace and assurance watches over us in our journey.

Anchored in God,

Pastor Renée

Breakfast with the Pastor

Breakfast with the Pastor

will not meet

Tuesday, June 25th 9:30am at MePa's Diner.

Come Join the Choir

If you have had any interest in singing with our Magnolia Singers, now is your chance. Come join us, we meet on Thursday nights at 6:00pm. If you are interested,

please speak to Dawn.

Join us for a fun and inspiring Sunday School class that welcomes everyone of any age. We meet once a month on the first Sunday at 9:45am in the Fellowship Hall. We explore the scriptures and discover what God wants to tell us. We also make something we can keep that reminds us of God's message. Don't miss this opportunity to grow in faith and fellowship. The next class is Sunday July 7th. See you there!

The tradition of 5th Sunday potluck lunches brings us together in community, offering a chance to enjoy a variety of homemade dishes and the company of friends and family. It's a time to showcase cooking skills, or perhaps a secret family recipe, and to indulge in the flavors brought by others. These gatherings are not just about the food but also about strengthening bonds and creating memories. So, on the 5th Sunday of June (June 30th) following church, the gym will transform into a place of sharing, caring, and culinary delight. Don't forget to bring your appetite and your best dish!

We are excited to announce the return of The Chosen. Every Sunday evening in June from 1pm to 3 pm, we will gather as a family of faith to enjoy a meal and watch an episode of The Chosen, a series that portrays the life of Jesus and his disciples. After each episode, we will have a time of discussion and reflection on what we learned. Please bring a potluck dish to share. This is a great way to connect with each other and with God in a relaxed and meaningful way. We hope you will join us for this special experience!!

Volunteers are needed

for several tasks big and small around the church. If you are interested in volunteering or want more information, please talk to

Encounters with God

Saving Grace

This Sunday

This Sunday we finish the sermon series "Encounters with God". We have stood in the awe of God's holiness. We have met the author and creator of our lives who knows us completely. We stretched our understanding of how great God's love is. This Sunday we look at the saving grace of God.

Prayer: You Call Us

Here’s a prayer of petition written by Rev. Bob Gibson.

Prayer

(inspired by Matthew 4:18-22, Mark 1:16-20, Luke 5:1-11)

You call us,

Wanderer of seashores and sidewalks,

inviting us to sail out of our smug harbors

into the uncharted waters of faith

to wander off from our predictable paths to follow You

into the unpredictable footsteps of the kingdom;

to leave the comfort of our homes and accompany

You into the uncomfortable neighborhoods we usually avoid.

As we wait,

in our simple, sometimes crazy,

constantly uncertain lives,

speak to us, Spirit of Grace:

of that hope which is our anchor;

of that peace which is our rock;

of that grace which is our refuge.
