Exploring the My Account Page

If there's one word to describe the My Account page, it's EMPOWERING. From here you can keep track of everything you've checked out, and confidently know when items will become overdue. Here you can learn about any holds on items, and even track your circulation history (also called one's Reading History).

We hope you poke around! The My Account page is unique to you. Click on the links to explore all the many opportunities to make the Madison Library work for you the way you want it to work.  

For example, "Messaging Settings" let's you control how you want to be notified of overdues, checkouts and holds filled. This is also where you can sign up for text notifications.

Browsing the Catalog

Let the fun begin!

Here are two easy ways to access the above page.

1. You can click the giant green "Madison Library" at the top of the screen

2. Click the open book icon on the left hand side of the dark green menu bar

If you already know the title of the item you are searching for, type it in the search bar and click search. Aspen Discovery will take you to a more detailed screen where you can narrow the search results by using a variety of helpful filters. This screen also shows the different formats offered (book, audio, ebook etc.) and lets you know if it is on the shelf, checked out or available from one of our coop libraries. Click the blue Place Hold button to submit the hold request to complete your transaction. You will notice that you can conveniently place holds on Overdrive items too.

If you're in the mood to browse (and who isn't?), you can click on those large purple buttons (New Fiction, New Non-Fiction, NY Times Hardcover Bestsellers etc.) for "larger world" inspiration. Click on the covers to read available book summaries, or to place a hold.
