Macon Pickleball Newsletter February 23, 2024

The Macon Pickleball League is back! Thursday nights in March and April at Tattnall Pickleball Center are LEAGUE NIGHTS. There will be 3 divisions - Novice, Intermediate and Advanced. Each division will have a maximum of 6 teams. Teams are made up of at least 2 men and 2 women but a team can have up to 3 men and 3 women.

Each match will consist of a men's doubles match, a women's doubles match and two mixed doubles matches. Rally scoring is used. Games are to 21. If games are tied 2-2 after these 4 matches, a tie-breaker using 4 players from each team is played. Scores and standings will be input and displayed using pickleballleagues.org.

The cost is $27.50 per player and players are responsible for their court fee for each match. Individual players wanting to participate can register as individuals and they will be placed on teams needing players. Top teams from each division will advance to the Southern Pickleball Team Championships later this year.

The last Pickleball 101 of February is taking place next week at Rhythm & Rally, the world's largest indoor pickleball facility.

The course is 4 days (Mon-Thu) and runs from 6:00 - 7:00 PM. Cost is $60 for R&R members and $80 for non-members.

OPEN PLAY takes place every weekday in the mornings and the afternoons. Morning play start times vary with the weather, but the busier days tend to be MWF. Afternoon open play usually gets cranked up around 5:30 and lasts for several hours on courts 12 - 17.

Mon-Thur: 8:30 AM - 9:00 PM

Fri: 8:30 AM - 7:30 PM

Sat: 8:30 AM - 2:30 PM

Sun: 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM
