The Summer Musical is "Footloose" directed and choreographed by Niko Montelibano. It opens June 29th.
The heartfelt story that pins a father longing for the son he lost against a young man aching for the father who walked out on him.
To the rockin’ rhythm of its Oscar and Tony-nominated Top 40 score, augmented with dynamic new songs, Footloose celebrates the wisdom of listening to young people while guiding them with a warm heart and open mind.

Congratulations to playwrights Diana Burbano (Beheading Columbus) and Khari Wyatt (Some Type of Ecstacy), both of whom had their plays presented as part of the Morgan-Wixson's New Works Festival, who have been selected by Antaeus Theatre Company as part of their third annual NEXT Commissions. Each playwright will receive financial, dramaturgical, and logistical support for the development of original, full length works. Both are rich storytellers and we can’t wait to see where their journey leads them. CONGRATS!!

One of our favorites, Richard Rosales, (who has performed in "Drowsy Chaperone", "...Stinkin' Badges" and NWF's "Monarchs" on our stage) is playing composer Roger Hopewell in The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940 at Theatre Palisades, through June 30. Check out this screwball comedy - an entertaining two-act brainteaser guaranteed to keep you guessing while laughing at all the comings and goings.

Huge amounts of gratitude to Howard Nugent, who helped us out with some emergency rigging that needed to be done. Appreciate all you do for the Morgan-Wixson.
CONGRATS to playwright LaDarrion Williams, whose play "Boulevard of Bold Dreams" was part of our first New Works Festival. With a book sitting at #1 on Amazon for the past month, he has now announced that he has been selected to be a playwright at the Eugene O’Neill National Playwrights Conference, workshopping his new play "Hurt People."
|
|
For those who do not know, the O'Neill Playwrights Conference has been the incubator for such works as The House Of Blue Leaves, Violet, Uncommon Women and Others, Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, Fences, The Piano Lesson, A Walk In The Woods; Nine, Avenue Q, [title of show] and The Nether. We couldn't be more happy for LaDarrion!
