JUNE 2021
IN THIS ISSUE:
Welcome to the Municipal Water District of Orange County’s (MWDOC) June 2021 eCurrents newsletter. In this issue, we’re calling on agencies to join MWDOC in submitting comments on Indoor Residential Use Standards as the State again looks to tighten regulations on water consumption. Here in Orange County, we have historically been very efficient with our water use and look to both short and long-term planning tools like the MWDOC 2020 Urban Water Management Plan and Water Supply Contingency Plan for continued guidance. Are we experiencing a "mega-drought, and are these tools enough to get us through? MWDOC General Manager Rob Hunter tackles that question and more in his appearance on The Water Zone, KCAA radio. Also included are exciting new tips and available resources to help kick start your summer water savings! And finally, we say goodbye to long-time Metropolitan General Manager Jeff Kightlinger as we reconvene for the first time in-person for a Water Policy Forum & Dinner. Jeff will give us his final thoughts on the future of Metropolitan amidst drought, new leadership, and the fate of sustainability projects. All of this and more, in this latest issue of eCurrents!
