CORONET WATERSMART CONSERVATION GARDEN

Do you want to create a water-smart garden but don’t know where to start? Check out the newly unveiled Coronet Watersmart Conservation Garden in the City of Westminster! This 5,011 sq. ft. demonstration garden features more than 20 native plant varieties, permeable landscape materials, water-efficient irrigation, and more!

SMART IRRIGATION MONTH
July 1-30, 2023
In July, MWDOC celebrated Smart Irrigation Month by sharing water-smart irrigation tips and activities with OC community members. Simple actions like adding drip irrigation or replacing broken sprinkler heads with rotating nozzles can save residents and businesses plenty of water, time, and money!

ONE WATER AWARD
City of Huntington Beach
Have you heard? Over the next 10 years, the City of Huntington Beach expects to save 182 million gallons of water! This July, MWDOC and Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (MET) director Karl Seckel presented MET’s One Water Award to Huntington Beach Mayor Tony Strickland and City staff for their new Neutral Output Discharge Elimination System. The system captures water flushed from fire hydrants during routine maintenance for reuse instead of letting it flow into the street.
