WEEA LEADERSHIP ROUNDTABLE #17

Did you know? 11,000 Baby Boomers are retiring every day! The Water Energy Education Alliance (WEEA), administered and led by MWDOC, invites you to join us for the next Leadership Roundtable meeting on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., where we will welcome Workforce Equity Lab as our featured guest speaker to discuss concrete strategies for successfully recruiting and advancing women in non-traditional employment roles. Registration is required to attend.

CHILDREN'S WATER EDUCATION FESTIVAL

March 27-28, 2024


Have you ever wondered how far water travels before it comes out of the tap? Last week, MWDOC led over 300 3rd to 5th graders in an interactive water supply challenge at the 27th annual Children’s Water Education Festival presented by Orange County Water District! Using marble run materials, student teams tackled the feat of water delivery, constructing aqueducts and pipelines and tracing our water’s path from Northern California all the way to Orange County.

FIX A LEAK WEEK

March 18-24, 2024


Hey OC! How did you save water during Fix a Leak Week? Through MWDOC’s Leak Detection Program, we saved Orange County an incredible amount of water this fiscal year—31 million gallons! Leaks can sneak up on us, but don't worry; we've got you covered with information and resources. Join us in our mission to save water—one leak at a time!

COURTYARD BEAUTIFICATION PROJECT

City of Seal Beach


In case you missed the grand reveal, MWDOC/Metropolitan Director Karl Seckel provided supporting remarks at the unveiling of the City of Seal Beach Courtyard Beautification Project! Through The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California's Community Partnering Program, the City was able to transform the nonfunctional fountain at City Hall into a beautiful water-wise garden and add a pollinator garden too. This project symbolizes the City’s commitment to sound water stewardship and inspirational, replicable water-smart landscaping.
