National Night Out 2023

On August 1st, 2023, the Mill Valley Police Department hosted their annual National Night Out event at the Depot Plaza. National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie. Public Works News

East Blithedale Project - The Project Team has successfully completed paving East Blithedale Avenue, with a few remaining punchlist items remaining. The Project will reach full completion in mid-August before schools return to session. Work crews will continue alternating one-way traffic control between 8:00 to 5:00 pm on East Blithedale Avenue. 2023 Sewer Rehabilitation - Check out the latest update on the numerous repairs, replacements, and improvements to Mill Valley’s sewer system’s infrastructure. You may have seen this work underway at Hauke Park, along Hamilton Drive, and in some residential areas around town. The project is scheduled to be completed by October 2023

Visit the Library's lower-level gallery to view our new exhibit Above the Clouds: Postcards from Mt. Tamalpais (c. 1900-1915) featuring over 140 charming scenes from the Mill Valley and Mount Tamalpais Scenic Railway.


Stop by the History Room to check out our exhibit about the names and places that brought Mill Valley to the forefront of the counterculture movement entitled Refugees from American Consumerism: Mill Valley’s Counterculture in the Beatnik 1950s through the 1970s ‘Me’ Decade.

DEI News

We are more than halfway through the calendar year, and we thought it would be a good time to update community members on the City’s 2023 DEI initiatives. 


DEI planning and initiatives are at the forefront of our agenda, and we remain steadfast in implementing them as a top priority. The City Council's 2023 Work Plan, adopted in March, places significant emphasis on DEI initiatives, with over 15 specific priorities aimed at fostering an equitable and diverse environment.  Check out this summary of recent City actions that align with the City Council’s Work Plan DEI objectives. 

Study Committee News

Vice Mayor Urban Carmel and Councilmember Stephen Burke announced today the group of community members appointed to join the City’s Infrastructure Funding Study Committee.


City leaders have identified a number of infrastructure investments critical to the safety and well-being of our residents that will require significant funding over the next 10-15 years. The Committee's mandate will be to review the City's infrastructure challenges and craft a financial strategy to recommend to Council by the end of the year. Click here to learn more.

Mill Valley Community Center and Aquatics & Fitness Center CLOSED August 12-20 for Scheduled Annual Maintenance

The Teen Zone Opens August 24th!

Teen Zone is an after school program for middle school students (grades 6 - 8) located at the Mill Valley Community Center. Teen Zone membership includes drop-in access to the Teen Zone location as well as discounts on teen special events. Register today!
