Miami Valley CTC shows off massive updated school to new students, families

Incoming juniors at the Miami Valley Career Tech Center in Englewood said they’re excited to attend the new, nearly 600,000-square-foot school building, which is opening this year after almost five years of renovations.

Jefferson Twp. schools add agricultural education program, partner with MVCTC

Jefferson is the smallest school district in the region, with just over 250 students. Their program will be partnered with the Miami Valley Career Technology Center, meaning students can pursue college credit and other certifications via their participation in the program.
The agricultural education facilities at the school will offer Jefferson Twp. students' career tech opportunities without having to travel to an MVCTC program at another school.

MVCTC Launches New Pilot Program to Empower MonDay Community Correctional Institute Residents with Education and Workplace Skills
This summer, MVCTC launched an innovative pilot project in partnership with our Adult Education and Aspire departments and the MonDay Community Correctional Institute. Building upon a longstanding collaboration with MonDay, which has provided GED classes for many years, this new initiative aims to equip MonDay residents with not only a high school equivalency but also an industry-recognized workplace credential.

Celebrating Alumni Success: Cheyenne Epperson
Cheyenne Epperson, an alumna of the Diesel Power Technologies program at MVCTC, graduated from Preble Shawnee High School in 2022. She continued her education at the University of Northwestern Ohio (UNOH). She recently graduated from UNOH in 2024, furthering her expertise in the field.
In November 2022, Cheyenne began an internship with Koenig Equipment, where she quickly became an integral part of the Parts Department. Her internship took her across several locations, including Richmond, Anna, Greenville, and Oxford.
In June 2024, Cheyenne transitioned from intern to full-time employee at Koenig Equipment.
We proudly celebrate Cheyenne’s accomplishments and look forward to seeing all she will achieve in her promising career.

The MVCTC School-to-Work program equips students with practical, hands-on learning experiences that enhance their classroom education. By integrating academic instruction with real-world application, the program ensures that students acquire the skills and competencies necessary for success in their chosen careers. This approach prepares students for immediate employment and fosters a deeper understanding of industry standards and expectations.

College Transition Advisors Available On Campus
MVCTC is excited to announce that we will continue hosting two dedicated College Transition Advisors on campus to help guide students through the process of transitioning from high school to college. Whether you’re considering Sinclair College or Edison State Community College, our advisors are here to support you every step of the way. Their office is conveniently located in the Student Services area, Room D102B.

MVCTC Expands Satellite Programs for the 2024-2025 School Year
MVCTC announced the expansion of its satellite programs for the 2024-2025 school year. These programs, offered in collaboration with our partner school districts, extend career-technical education opportunities directly to students on their own high school campuses.
New satellite programs for 2024-2025 include Jefferson Township (Agricultural Education), Miamisburg (Project Lead the Way and Career Connections), Milton-Union (Computer Science), and Valley View (Business Academy).

These individuals bring a wealth of experience, passion, and expertise to our community, further strengthening our commitment to providing premier educational choices and advanced employment preparation for our students.

College Credit Plus Informational Meeting Thursday, September 12, 6:00
College Credit Plus (CCP) is Ohio’s program for earning simultaneous college and high school credit. Students not currently participating in CCP are encouraged to attend this meeting with their families. Students can begin participating in the spring semester or during the following school year.

MVCTC Adult Education Machine Shop 1 class starts October 1.
This 12-week class is on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 5:30 -10 pm. Classes run October 1 - December 19, 2024.
The course fee is $1,800, and students may apply for the Ohio Work Ready Grant through MVCTC by completing the FAFSA.
