the GOOD the BAD the

Dave a friend of mine sent me a new recording that has a really good beat, a great title and the words are very special too:
Love Broke Thru- by Toby Mac:
(Great news- there's a link to listen at the conclusion of this email)
"...When love broke thru
You found me in the darkness
Wanderin’ thru the desert
I was a hopeless fool
Now I’m hopelessly devoted
My chains are broken
And it all began with You
When love broke thru
And it all began with You
When love broke thru

I did all that I could to undo me
But You loved me enough to pursue me
Yeah, You drew me out of the shadows
Made me believe that I mattered, to You (You)
You were there, You heard my prayer in that broke down dusty room
It was the first time I said, “I’m Yours”
The first time I called You Lord...

I did all that I could to undo me
But You loved me enough to pursue me..."

My friend Ray asked me if I saw the halftime musical performance of Kendrick Lamar at the NCAA Football College Championship game between Georgia and Alabama...
I did see and hear it but I didn't understand a word that was sung...
Ray showed me the words of one of his songs...

Here's the background of why they
decided to have him perform:

"It is truly an honor,” said Kendrick Lamar. “Thank you, ESPN, for having me be the first halftime performer ever at the College Football Playoff National Championship.”
“In each year of the College Football Playoff, we’ve been able to build upon the experience of the last,” said Ed Erhardt, president, ESPN global sales & marketing. “This year is a true first for college football – and it makes sense that the hottest performer of the moment, Kendrick Lamar, would usher in this new era for the national championship game.”
Lamar’s special halftime performance is the latest in the ongoing collaboration between ESPN and Interscope Records,
in its third consecutive year."
Element by Kendrick Lamar:

**My personal editorial comment...the football game itself will go down as one of the best this halftime performance ever got scheduled with the game is absolutely beyond belief...if there is not an outcry of disgust and demand for change..then America has hit another low
Assistant Pastor Lamar (not to confused with Kendrick Lamar) directed our men's choir in singing...

Ye Shall Be My Witnesses- by Jerry Kirk
"Ye shall receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you,
and ye shall be My witnesses unto the ends of the earth.
Jerusalem! Samaria, and the ends of the earth!
Jerusalem! Judea! Samaria, and the ends of the earth!"

The men's choir singing Ye Shall Be My Witnesses was outstanding last Sunday and blessed my heart as we draw near to the start of our 5 week WITNESS BREAKTHROUGH training sessions every Wednesday beginning 1/31/18

As you hopefully pray for us...the bottom line prayer request is that many will experience as never before becoming a John 3:16 witness
...compelled by love not duty to share the GOOD NEWS of Jesus Christ

Here's the prayer from page 6 of our study book... IF WE ARE THE LIGHT, WHY IS AMERICA SO DARK?... that we will be praying during our first session:
A Solemn Prayer of Witness Repentence
~Ted Sprague

Psalm 105:2
"Sing to Him, sing praises to Him, tell of His wonderful acts."

Psalm 135:3
"Praise the Lord, for the Lord is good; sing praise to His name,
for that is pleasant."
